Description

Toast your way through the past and present of beer brewing in Brooklyn! This neighborhood was once home to 48 breweries, but this ancient trade disappeared from the borough in the 1970s, only to be reborn in recent years with craft breweries leading the way. If you want a taste (quite literally...) of the history behind beer brewing in New York, look no further! On this NYC beer tour, we'll take a behind-the-scenes local look at how beer is made at one of Brooklyn's present-day breweries. Explore the pre-prohibition era as we check out 19th-century brewery buildings, visit landmarked sites, and share stories of the German immigrants who lived and worked in the neighborhood. Plus, don’t forget all the craft beer and food along the way! We’ll enjoy a number of great Brooklyn brews from all kinds of spots, and stop off at a local pizza joint for lunch. Join us as we raise a glass to the history and masters of beer in Brooklyn!

Can't recommend the Tenements, Tales and Tastings Tour enough! Mickey was a fabulous tour guide. We learned so much about the city and the immigrants who made it what it is today. The tastings were delicious! Such an excellent way to get a feel for the city!

Our tour guide was Mickey. She was very knowledgeable about the area including a lot of historical facts, answered questions, and she was there right on time we didn’t have to wait for her our tour started a little early. The tour was great it was a long walk but it was well worth it and we wish we had just a few more food tasting stops but, the ones she took us to were amazing! My family of 3 highly recommends her and her tour!

"Best Food Tour in NYC"

Our guide, Mickey Pantano, was incredibly knowledgeable about the city, locations, and food genres being toured — along with a supremely gifted narrator for our wonderful trip. We must’ve walked about 3 miles and covered Civic Center, Chinatown, Little Italy, Lower East Side, and others to discover wonderful cuisine and restaurants we otherwise wouldn’t have known. This is the third tour we’ve done with this company — all have been outstanding but this was the best guide, locations, and itinerary. Wonderful for out of Towners or local Manhattanites like us.

Mickey was our tour guide and she was absolutely fantastic explaining the history of each culture and keeping everyone interested and involved in the tour. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to know interesting background info on how NYC came about.
