Be your own captain as you tour San Diego bay driving your own speed boat! Experience the adventure of a lifetime on our speed boat adventure tour.

Fully narrated tour for 13 miles on the Big Bay. You will have a once in a lifetime view of Navy Ships, The USS Midway aircraft museum, Coronado Bridge, The famous Star of India and the historic ships of the Maritime Museum, the cruise ship terminal, Seaport Village, The downtown skyline, and all the wildlife that call San Diego Harbor home.

• USCG approved life jacket
• Instruction covering

• Professionally trained guide leading and narrating the tour

Speed Boat Adventure Tours: (Boats can have 1-3 people with a max weight per boat of 450 lbs) A small child (under 50 lbs) is allowed to sit in the middle. You must be 18 years or older to drive a boat by yourself.

Reservations are fully refundable up to 7 days before departure.

WEATHER POLICY: San Diego enjoys some sun 360 days per year and only 8.24 inches of rain per year. Luckily, most of the rain and high winds are readily predictable. When we expect poor conditions we cancel the trip and refund or reschedule. On average 3 days a year are cancelled in this manner. Occasionally a trip will be affected by unexpected clouds or inclement weather. We assume no responsibility for nor do we have any control of the weather in the area. We endeavor to be well studied and to make well informed go/no-go decisions but no refunds will be given should the resulting conditions become unfavorable.

Very enjoyable tour of the middle of the bay. You'll see aircraft carriers including the Midway Museum. Guide was friendly, and the boats are more than adequate. I would recommend this activity.

It was a last minute decision, there was an opening in 2 hrs so we booked and oh what an adventure, so fun driving the small boat around the harbor, our guide was awesome. Will do it again when in San Diego!!

Are there any restrictions or weight requirements?
Yes, there is a per boat weight limit of 500 lbs. A small child (under 50 lbs) is allowed to sit in the middle.  You must be 18 years or older to drive a boat by yourself.


Any health restrictions?
Part of the fun at Speed Boat Adventure Tours is that, at times, we will be riding in open water. Although usually calm, the harbor can be choppy at times.*We do not recommend guest with neck or back problems or a recent surgery to participate. Pregnant women should not participate.*


What should I bring to wear?
- Wear what you would to the beach depending on the temperature (swimsuit in the summer and a jacket in the winter )

- Sandals or flip-flops
- A towel
- Sun block
- Sunglasses


Can we switch drivers?
Absolutely! We will stop several times during the tour and you can switch drivers if you like.


What if I have never driven a boat?
No problem! Our boats are very simply to operate and we will make sure you are fully comfortable with the operation before we leave the dock.
