The hotel is low to moderately priced compared to other San Diego hotels, and is conveniently situated at the edge of Old Town and the trolley station. The front desk staff are courteous and helpful. Overall, rooms are spacious and equipped with both fridge and microwave. Housekeeping provides plenty of towels, though mine did not clean the shower stall during my short stay (at least, as indicated by washcloths being left on the shower stall floor). No nice little extras, like bathrobes or a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The fitness center’s best point was its 24/7 availability. Equipment included about three treadmills, two aged Precor elliptical, one studio bicycle (no standard upright bicycle), a very basic fitness center, one bench, medicine balls up to about 10 pounds, one stability ball, and free weights up to 50 pounds. A big missing element was gym mats, neither standard nor yoga mats, so plan on doing stretches and crunches on the floor. The gym was overly warm for a moderate to intense workout (mid 70s) and no way to lower the thermostat. No comments on the restaurant, other than a rather uninspired menu, and pricy brunch; I ate out.

Close to the airport and major highways, clean and well kept rooms. No free breakfast, but selections and pricing [overall value] was reasonable. Suitable for kids and young families. Front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. Heated pool was nice but hot tub could stand to be a few degrees warmer. Nice big screen TV and reasonably fast WiFi service.

This was probably my 5th (and final) stay at this hotel because of proximity to my work in the area. It's always been ok. Customer service has never been a strength. Digitally checked in and used my phone as the key. Got into the hotel room around 9:00 pm and knew something wasn't right because of the sewer odor in the room. Could clearly see the backup in the shower. Called down to the front, they will send up maintenance and requested another room - completely full no other room available. What about another Hilton in the area - any availability? We won't check. The maintenance guy tried unsuccessfully to snake the drain. He recommended we move rooms and when he shared that, he recommended moving hotels - which was already in the works. Not one apology, not one follow-up email or call. Complete customer disregard.

This hotel is not accommodating. I was asked to pay $75 for checking in half an hour early!! I guess that is how they treat Hilton Diamond members.
