"Brilliance at the Edge!"

Brilliance at the edge. No queuing compared to summit (we went on 7/1/26 at 3.50 for sunset views. Was busy on the viewing platform but not a problem as there’s so many windows to view from. Views are amazing and gives better sight line to New Jersey and Brooklyn. I’d like to say the staff are friendly. It was just myself and my adult daughter travelling. This was hard for photos of us together that were free. We would ask other tourists and whilst some did others would pull a face. We asked at other viewing galleries (always went when it was quiet) if someone staff wise would be willing to take our picture. Unfortunately they’re not allowed to do so and I understand why but was still a bit disappointed. However, at the edge, we were trying to get a selfie and a nice employee (kenson o’Reilly) came over and asked if we’d like him to take our picture. This was fantastic and gave me a moment to look back on with my daughter where I don’t have turkey neck or a huge head! We did thank him but felt it was worth mentioning this as part of my review as the staff at the edge are just as amazing as the views.

"Sunset experience is not worth it ."
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

It was extremely crowded and it was hard to get a pic. Also I spent more than $150 for a sunset experience which honestly is not worth it. Instead of getting sunset experience, get a regular ticked which is around $45 dollar and go at 3pm, once you are on the top, there is not limit time , you can stay there as long as you want. So cos sunset experience is just a waste of money it only gives you a poor cheap drink and fast elevator. But if you have time you can save $100 dollars . When I told a guy from staff that I have sunset experience , he just told me “ok, go around and explore” lol, then there are not enough staff for the amount of guess they have. It would be amazing if you spent over $150 for an experience sunset section, then it will be worth it .

"Impressive Views and a Well-Run Observation Deck"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5
Reviewed December 28, 2025 NEW
Edge offers some of the most dramatic views in New York City. Standing on the outdoor deck and looking out over the skyline is genuinely impressive, and the glass floor adds an extra thrill for those who want it. We went early and found the experience to be well-organized and easy to move through. The space feels open, and there is plenty of room to take in the views without feeling rushed. It is a great option if you want a classic observation deck experience with a modern feel. A memorable stop, especially if you have not done one of the newer observation decks yet.
