Fine for a quick theater trip to the city. Breakfast and elevator situation were adequate only because it was an off night. It would be awful if the hotel were fully booked. I actually walked past the hotel because there is no external sign due to construction scaffolding and it just looked like an apartment lobby. Mini fridge in room was a plus.

"Brilliant stay in NYC for New Year"

Great Hotel in brilliant location. Walking distance to Times Square and most of the main sights. Room was small but had 2 comfy double beds, a lovely walk in shower in the bathroom and all toiletries were provided. Housekeeping came daily with clean towels and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a great choice however it was very busy and a bit manic but the staff provide trays so you can bring it back up to your room as the seating area is quite limited. We visited over new year and it was freezing but the rooms are lovely and warm with adjustable heating. The restaurant area is ideal for eating takeaways of an evening if you’re too tired to go out after a busy day and I would recommend downloading the door dash app for quick delivery. I even ordered a personalised birthday cake for my daughter which was delivered in 20 minutes! We would definitely return to this hotel as we didn’t really have any complaints. Yes it’s busy at breakfast, yes the rooms are a bit dated and yes the elevators are a bit slow but it’s in a great spot in the hustle and bustle of New York City so if that is all people can complain about then you’re never going to please them! If you’ve booked to stay then here you will have a great time and if you haven’t booked yet then don’t be put off by the negative reviews it really is a great place to stay.

Only positives would be location, beds and some reception staff. Fairly central, access to subway and buses and shops. Beds comfy. Most reception staff friendly. However, very loud work being done on the building at the time. Had to change rooms because the sofa bed was placed so it couldn’t even fit, which apparently is the same with all sofa bed rooms. Got a room right next to the elevator which makes noise all through the night. Coffee machine in room doesn’t function. Fitness room said to have weights/weight machines online which it didn’t. Somehow had no access to drinking water for half the week??? Breakfast way too overcrowded - too small of an area to fit the amount of guests. Sign said ‘more seating this way’ which was false. Food at breakfast mostly uninspiring and limited, and found myself living off sweaty warm cinnamon buns every day and rationing juice that ran out by 8:00am. Staff arrogant and stressed (unsurprisingly) when working in the breakfast area. Had housekeeping for one day before refusing it for the rest of the week, after seeing my clothes and luggage dumped on my bed (in photo). Cleaning staff seen around the building rude. Elevators awfully slow and small, seeing a queue of 10 people waiting in the lobby. Had to walk 7 flights of stairs many times. Overall, this hotel will shock you with its lack of common sense and basic amenities. Only stay here if it’s for one night and it’s the last option. Waste of money when considering what else is on offer in Manhattan and other boroughs.
