Booked this because I have loved the film Chicago forever! However, coming from London and having the west end on my doorstep perhaps I’m spoilt…..but the stage set was basic, didn’t change, dancers had minimal space. Dancing was not sharp (and I’m no expert) singing was good but not knock your socks off……..I need it to come back to London so I can really compare

The cast was exceptional! The orchestra was amazing, and we had a lot of fun. We had seats really close to the stage and it was worth it!

"Chicago on Broadway was Awesome!!"

I have always wanted to see Chicago on Broadway and it did not disappoint! The band was incredible! The music is of course very important to the show and the band is center stage and was PERFECTION! The singing and dancing was all wonderful, as was the cast (Sophie Carmen-Jones was excellent as Velma, Dylis Croman as Roxie and Rema Webb as Mama and Max vonEssen as Billy). I have seen some reviewers complain there were no set or costume changes but that may be because they weren't familiar with the stage musical. The movie has all that, but the stage show does not. It is representative of a 1920's vaudeville show and has Fosse's cabaret style. Go see it- you won't be disappointed!!

"Highly disappointed and I blame the production director."

I've seen community college productions with more energy, better choreography, and I hate to say it....but better talent. Do not go if you are expecting a big flashy musical production, this version is incredibly paired down with not too much choreography. If this was my only Broadway show experience, I would have been highly disappointed in Broadway as a whole. Spend the money and go see Death Becomes Her, operation mincemeat, Hadestown, or literally anything else. Absolutely nit worth the money. Hint: just because something is longly running on Broadway does not make it quality and it breaks my heart to say that because even The Talented Ensemble could not save the show.
