"Don’t boat to Mount Vernon"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed July 10, 2024
Took the boat to Mount Vernon from DC. Called ahead to see if the 3 1/2 hours you spend at mount vernon was enough time to see it all and eat at the colonial restaurant Told it was plenty of time. Not true at all. After walking up to mount vernon we had less than 3 hours . Spent way too long on a boring boat ride. Kids and adults were bored. Ran uphill to mount vernon. Toured the house only. Ran to restaurant. Ran back to dock. Didn’t get to see much at all. The slave area didn’t open until after the boat left. Do NOT take this trip. Not near enough time at mount vernon. Drive there and actually see it.
