"Perfect for One Night"

We stayed one night as the hotel is within walking distance to the Capital One Arena. Staff was friendly. We loved that the Irish bar was just downstairs and was open late. It was very clean and comfortable. It does need to be updated - it just seems a little tired.

"I'm a Fairfield Inn convert"

Recently I've started to stay at Fairfield Inns and I don't know why I waited so long to stay at them. The DC/Downtown is up to the standards that I've come accustomed to. It is clean, good location, fairly priced, breakfast included, friendly and helpful staff. It does not have daily cleaning. Found the bed to be comfortable and room spacious enough for two adults. Definitely will continue to stay at Fairfield Inns.

Upon opening our room at this hotel after checking in we were very impressed with the place. We liked that it was wood floors and not carpeted and also the cleanliness of the room. Every worked great and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was superb but get there early as tables fill up fast. Parking valets are very efficient and also helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near US 50 W and also the Metro trains which has a station about one block away. It was easy to get to the National Mall and other area attractions from the hotel. A food mall is located nearby and also some Chinese restaurants and Mexican food.

"Not up to Fairfield Inn standards."

Not the greatest area, but that was my fault for not looking into location better. Rooms did not have refrigerators or microwaves. You could ask and a fridge would be sent up, but you were expected to use a communal microwave near the elevator if you needed one. When I checked in I was given the smallest room I’ve ever seen outside of NYC and my safe didn’t work. I was told they could fix it but I had something to lock up and didn’t want to wait so asked for another room. The second room was larger with a small sofa, but the sofa was shabby and looked filthy so I didn’t use it at all. The hotel only had 2 elevators for both guests and staff and one was broken the entire 4 days I was there. I would have walked the stairs if I was on the 4th floor, or maybe even 5th, but I was on the 10th. Had long waits every time I used it and several times couldn’t even get on because of housekeeping bins and many other people taking up all the room. Breakfast was very convenient and adequate. Staff was very helpful but there was only so much they could do to alleviate the problems.
