"Great location, poor rooms and inattentive staff!"

Extremely outdated hotel and rooms. The paint is peeling in the shower and the carpets are stained and dirty. I was in room 926 and the room would not go below 80 degrees and the AC unit would not turn off. I called to see if they could send someone to look at it, in which the Front Desk Associate informed me, “someone already looked at it”. Didn’t make sense because I was in the room for about 30 mins. Seems like they keep trying to pass this room around. Upon checking out, I expressed my concerns to the Associate, in which he stated, “okay, I’ll let someone know” while popping is bubble gum and scanning hotel keys without any concern. Definitely not the Hilton experience I’m used to. Recommend staying a little more at a different Hilton property.

"Gross, disgusting, and unable to rectify the situation"

Do not stay here. My wife and I were flying out of DCA airport early in the morning, so we were looking for a place to spend the night, leave our car for a week, and have a quick shuttle ride to the airport. Found this hotel online, and it seemed to fit the bill. First problem was our inability to book a shuttle to the airport. (The shuttle is handled via a third-party website, not by the hotel.) Not a big deal; we'd pay a few bucks to Uber to the airport. Bigger issue was when we went back to our room after grabbing a quick dinner and found a LARGE cockroach on the wall. (See picture.) Informed Chandler at the front desk, who was very apologetic, but nothing beyond that. After our trip, I e-mailed the hotel about the issue. Received a professional response from Mary Joy Aziz (Assistant Director of Front Office Operations) who offered to refund our payment for the hotel room. An appropriate offer. Now, more than a month later, we have no refund and all manner of excuses. When I received no credit on my credit card, Ms. Aziz (with whom I have now exchanged MANY e-mails) wrote "Expedia has advised that they will be contacting you via email regarding this matter." No, they won't, because I didn't book with Expedia. I sent multiple e-mails to Ms. Aziz of my credit card charge for the room and for a meal at the bar to confirm my payment and the amount thereof. I do, however, have an Expedia account and I checked. No refund there. More e-mail exchanges with Ms. Aziz. Today she writes "I recommend reaching out to your travel agent, through whom the booking was originally made." Except I did NOT book the room with a travel agent. The experience of the large roach on the wall was disturbing. My subsequent month-long experience with the hotel and their inability (or unwillingness) to process a promised refund has only made the situation worse.

"Don’t recommend: rooms dirty and the beds are tiny"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed December 10, 2025
I definitely won’t stay here again. Customer service was (mostly) great, but beds are NOT queen size at all. They won’t fit two people. Our room said it could fit three people and it only had two beds a little bigger than a twin. The rooms were dirty and smelled like weed. The first room we were put in had pee on the toilet seat when we first entered. Super disappointing overall. The front desk tried their best to help, but it doesn’t help when we are spending around $200 a night and can’t fit people in the beds. I won’t ever stay here again, and honestly it has made me wary of Hilton Doubletrees in general.
