Description

Hop aboard Old Town Trolley's Trolley of the Doomed and prepare yourself as your talented Ghost Host shares tales of misfortune and mayhem. Aboard this Ghosts and Gravestones St Augustine tour, you'll hear accounts of long-gone residents still seen in numerous locations throughout the city. The tumultuous past transcends into the present as the trolley journeys through this historic city.

Pass by some of the scariest and most sacred sites, including the Huguenot Cemetery, the final resting place of the victims of yellow fever... or was it final? Some visitors to the burial grounds have reported seeing eerie apparitions and translucent orbs floating about.

If you keep a watchful eye while passing the City Gates, you might catch a glimpse of Elizabeth, a child victim of yellow fever, waving to passersby.

You will also pass the Tolomato Cemetery. Who’s playing games in the cemetery when the sun goes down? Is it the spirit of five-year-old James jumping from branch to branch in the trees, or is it the Ghost Bride, still waiting for her walk down the aisle?

Hear About the Old Drug Store and Enter Potter's Wax Museum
Built on the edge of the Tolomato Cemetery sits one of St. Augustine’s most recognizable buildings, the Old Drug Store. Unexplained noises, cold spots and shadows reportedly moving on their own makeup only a few of the hundreds of documented supernatural occurrences. Learn the secrets to these hauntings that have plagued the Old Drug Store from the time it first opened in 1887. Afterward, get an exclusive nighttime experience inside Potter’s Wax Museum’s Chamber of Horrors for a unique retelling of the famed pirate Andrew Ranson’s gruesome execution.

Visit the Old Jail, One of the City's Most Haunted Places
You will end your journey with a visit to the Old Jail, one of the city’s most haunted locations. Listed on the Florida and National registry of Haunted Places, the Old Jail has been the site of countless supernatural occurrences. Many criminals have met their maker here. A shiv in the back or a hangman’s noose ended numerous lives. Be on the lookout for former prisoner Charlie Powell, as he is just as mischievous dead as he was alive. Visitors to the Old Jail have experienced cold spots, strange odors, loud banging noises, orbs of light, and even apparitions.

Our tour guide was Madame Ivy and our driver was Knuckles. Madame Ivy was a delightful guide and she did a great job of telling engaging tales of ghosts and gravestones. We especially loved the after-hours Potter's Wax Museum with our Executioner Michael. Can't forget Kris who was our Charlie. Thanks to all! We would recommend this experience, it was a great time.

What a hoot! If you have teens, be sure to book the Ghosts and Gravestones tour! This was right on their level and we had a great time watching them enjoy the stories and stops along the way. Great acting and effort by everyone! We picked the 9:20 PM tour on a Thursday in June. I told the boys the last one had to be the spookiest! Riding around on the trolly was relaxing and breezy! Hopping on and off was perfectly timed, to keep everyone engaged. The old jail was memorable. I definitely felt an energy of despair and sadness there. For days afterwards, we were all talking about the bishop, the boy in the tree, and the dead Frenchmen in the river. We spent the entire day in Saint Augustine and visited several historic places and excellent restaurants but when I asked the kids what their favorite part of our day trip was, they said “Charlie!”
