The service was so terrible me and my boyfriend went on this cruise to celebrate as he is currently in law enforcement training and we don’t really get to see each other like that. So we thought this would be a great way to celebrate. The moment we got on we got directed to our table then it went downhill from there. This cruise was on October 19th 2024 at 6:30 from pier 61. Our server came to get our order but was directed by her manager to only serve the big tables. She asked us if we wanted water but never came back with it and other people were being served and well taken care of. We waited over an hour to before we had to flag down the manager to order something to drink. He came by our table again and said it was on the way but it never came. Our original waitress came back and said I am sorry I know you ordered something but what was it. We told her don’t worry about the original order since it was way too long. My boyfriend ordered another drink. Once again they come back again to ask what was it again we wanted. It is unfair it seems the white patrons are getting the best service and attention and we as black folks get walked past and not noticed until we flag staff down. This was the first dinner cruise we ever went on it was a terrible experience and we won’t be back.

What does "Bateaux" mean?
Bateaux is the French word for "boats.” Patterned after the elegant glass boats that cruise the riverbanks of Paris, France, Bateaux New York features glass ceiling and walls with supporting framework to offer unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline.

What is "Boarding Time" and "Cruising Time?"
"Boarding Time" is the earliest our guests may board the ship. Typically we begin boarding 1/2 hour prior to the "Cruise Time." Tickets are picked up at our dockside kiosk up-to one hour prior to the cruise.

Are there any age requirements?
Lunch and Brunch Cruises: Children under 3 are complimentary and a discount is offered for children between the ages of 3 and 12 on our Brunch and Lunch Cruises.
Dinner Cruises: Bateaux Dinner Cruises feature a sophisticated atmosphere. Children under 4 are NOT permitted and we do not offer a discounted rate for children.

Is Bateaux New York wheelchair accessible?
Our crew is happy to aide passengers that need assistance. For individuals needing boarding assistance or wheelchair accessibility. Please let us know when you are making the reservation.

Is the vessel Coast Guard certified?
Yes. All of our ships are Coast Guard certified and maintained regularly to adhere to strict safety regulations.

Will I get seasick?
It's unlikely. Bateaux New York operates in New York Harbor, on the Hudson River and the East River, which are all very calm bodies of water. What's more, our ship is very stable, so in most cases, you can hardly tell that we're moving.

How is seating arranged on board?
Our ship is very flexible when it comes to seating. Tables for two, four, six, eight and even more can be arranged to suit almost every party and occasion. Our unique banquette seating allows us to create groupings of 20 to 100 with ease while still providing intimate seating for couples and foursomes.

What is your smoking policy?
All interior areas of our ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who smoke may do so on the outdoor observation decks.

Do you sail in inclement weather?
Absolutely. Our ships are fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort. We sail rain or shine year round.
