Start with a trip to a renowned restaurant for some soul food, then tour neighborhoods that showcase the most notable homes in the area. Stop at the African American Civil War Memorial, and at the end of the tour, receive tickets for the Museum of African American History and Culture!

Description

The tour begins at 6:30 p.m., leaving from the Navy Memorial, 7th and Pennsylvania Ave NW. Our first stop is dinner at the soul food restaurant Ooohs and Aahs in northwest Washington DC. You pre-order your food from a set menu so it will be ready when you arrive at the restaurant.

After dinner, we tour some of the historic African American neighborhoods such as Shaw, Ledroit Park, and Black Broadway. We drive past the Carter G.Woodson House, Mary M. Bethune home, Phyllis Wheatly YWCA, and African American Civil War Memorial. The tour is narrated by a native Washingtonian with 25 years of experience.

At the end of the African American history tour in DC, we bring you back to 401 F. street, and you are given tickets to the Museum of African American History and Culture.
