Overview

Perfect for new and experienced Segway riders, Segway Maui offers a unique experience to see Lahaina, Maui, with its exciting Segway tours. Guests can enjoy a fun training course to prepare for their experiences, ranging in duration from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Depending on the tour, guests can visit places like the Sugar Cane Train, black-sand beaches, lush forests and more.

Description

Segway Maui offers guided Segway Tours in partnership with other exciting activities in locations throughout the island. Segway Maui provides a fun training class and typically one or two-hour ride experiences.

Your safety is always our highest priority, therefore each of our tours begin with a 30-minute orientation session. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable and is ready. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride. Unfortunately, pregnant women are not permitted to participate.

What to bring: closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses.

Note:
- Bottled water, refreshments, and snacks are available at the office for a purchase.

- The Segway PT is appropriate for virtually anyone that weighs 75 to 260 pounds. Weight limits are strictly enforced, and each guest might be weighed at check-in. Children must be a minimum of 10 years old and accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult must sign an insurance waiver.

- Safety helmets are a must and are provided for each rider at no extra charge as well as safety reflective Vest or T-shirts

- Riders may be responsible for all damage to equipment if such damage is determined to be the result of reckless and irresponsible operation by the guest.

Cancellation Policy: If the tour is canceled within 72 hours by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.

"Safe and so much fun!"

Great experience! Starts with thorough education/practice/safety, and then a fun ride. Started by going through the hills above Lahaina, then down along the water towards kaanapali, where we saw some sea turtles. Then through downtown Lahaina where we saw the old jail and other sites. Throughout the whole tour we had a radio to hear the guide, who was entertaining and educational. As newlyweds in our 50s, we had a great time. Highly recommended!

This is a must do! We had so much fun and the tour guide was excellent. Not hard to maneuver the Segway. First time on them for us. Did the beach Segway tour and historical Lahaina. Ours was almost 3 hours long.

Is a Segway easy to ride?
A Segway is not only easy to ride, but it’s also a lot of fun! Your tour experience begins with an intro lesson to the Segway and how to ride it.

Can children go on this tour?
It is required that all riders be at least 10 years of age. All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied
by an adult.

Is there a weight limitation?
Yes. Each rider must weigh at least 85 pounds and no more than 260 pounds.

What health/physical restrictions are in place?
It is not recommended that pregnant women and any person with seizure disorders, intolerance or sensitivity to extreme heat and the sun, or persons who have had recent prosthetic surgery participate in this activity. Riders must be capable of standing for extended periods of time. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited from riding.

How fast does the Segway go?
The Segway have different levels of operation. The beginner level will limit the Segway to a maximum of 6 miles per hour. The intermediate level will limit the Segway to a maximum of 12.5 miles per hour. During The training session, new Segway riders will start at the beginner level. Once everyone is comfortable, we will move up to the intermediate level for the duration of the tour.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All participants must sign a waiver in order to go on the tour. In addition, participants must bring a photo ID with them if they are age 18 or older. Participants under the age of 18 need to have a parent or guardian co-sign with them.

Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes. It is our policy to require all gliders to wear a helmet and bright colored reflective vests.
Should I tip my tour guide?
Gratuity is not included in your tour price. While not required, gratuity is greatly appreciated!

Can I bring a bag or purse along the ride?
Segways have the ability to transport necessary items like cameras and medications. However, it is advised you keep your personal items to a minimum as the storage capacity is VERY limited.

Is hotel pick-up available?
Tours do not include hotel transportation. However, this can be arranged with advance notice if desired.
