"Great staff, lots to do, kids were thrilled"

I visited today for the first time with my two sons - ages 5 and 7 - on a weekday afternoon/evening (2-6 pm) during winter holiday break from school. Legoland was the perfect level of busy at this time - a good number of people but it never felt crowded, nor did we wait in any lines. We had a great time. The staff was fabulous - friendly and attentive - and the venue was fun and offered so much to do. We could have stayed longer. I do want to note that I read the reviews before going and therefore, we ate at the Chick-fil-A in the mall before entering Legoland. Chick-fil-A was very busy, and the longest wait of our day. We later bought coffee and ice cream at the Lego cafe (zero wait) and noticed that while the food selection is limited, the prices were very reasonable (something like $7 for a large salad or a burger, $1 for a string cheese, $1 for an apple sauce. I think my Starbucks latte was around $5 and the ice creams were around $3.) I wouldn’t hesitate to just eat there next time. That said, we didn’t buy any of the other upsells (VR, mini fig, pics, etc.) and didn’t care. Maybe we will upgrade next time just to check them out. But they def weren’t necessary. We saw all 3 of the “4D” movies and they’re each very different so try to see more than one! Agreed with other reviewers that the train ride to get in is very fun - almost like the chocolate factory ride at Hershey? But with wands and a video game element. One attraction we didn’t see mentioned on the website (but were delighted to find) was a stop motion studio/station. My older son makes Lego stop motion at home so this made us all quite happy. All in all, we had a great trip and hope to return this summer.
