The view was great from our eighth floor Riverview room. Maintenance needs to address an electrical socket that was hanging off the wall. Also better lighting in the bathroom would help. We didn’t try the restaurant or bar, but we’re delighted with how convenient the hotel was to the Quaker meeting house across the street

"Location was the only good thing about this hote."

The front desk personnel were okay but if you don't have the staff or the inventory to run a bar and restaurant, don't bother. The food was a total rip off. That might have been understandable if it had been edible or if the kitchen wasn't out of multiple items on the menu. Surly wait staff and bartenders were the norm. The room was okay but the decor needs a lift. It's old and smelly. A standing fan in the hallway is one way of getting a musty smell to go away but at the price these rooms go for, not the best.

Hotel is a great location for visiting historic Philly but rooms are not well cleaned. Our room had things from prior guests left under the bed and furniture and walls were also dirty. It wasn’t like unsafe feeling levels of filth but definitely headed in that direction. I have stayed here 3 different times, for various trips and will likely not return until it is renovated or something.

"Terrible place to stay... literally nothing good to say about it"

The room was fine, but there were zero extras, e.g. pillows, blankets, coffee. You get two small bottles of water, then have to buy any more that you want. We were there for 3 days, and after an hour on day 1, we were out of water. The TV was limited. We ended up paying to watch what we wanted to see on our laptop. The food was ridiculously expensive and poor. A basic breakfast buffet was $19 + tip (on day 2 we walked around the corner and had a great breakfast at 3Js Cafe on Market St. for much less. On Saturday night they were out of about a 3rd of the items on the (small) menu, including fries, of all things. Three of us ordered ($19) burgers medium rare, which came very thin and well-done, with potato chips. We had to get up and track down the wait staff after an absence of 10-15 minutes. Then we had to ask 3 times for ketchup... they kept bringing out a couple little packets at a time, good for one person when there were 6 of us. At the bar, we had to give the bartender our orders 3 times, as she kept forgetting, even though there were only a few customers there. One of our friends asked for an order of chicken wings and it took an hour. The amount of alcohol in our vodka tonics was so light that we had to order doubles. The elevators are wacky... a number of us got stranded on them during our stay, going all the way up to the top floor (we only needed the 2nd floor), then not being able to get off on the way back down until on the lobby level, and this would then repeat. My room card was required for the elevator, and mine had to be changed 3 times to get it to work. At check-in they charged us a $100 deposit, which presumably we would get back, but we didn't. They took $40/night for parking, and apparently tipped themselves the remaining $20? When checking out at 9:30 am on Monday, we asked for directions to 95 North and were given them, but the desk clerk suggested waiting an hour to avoid rush hour. We chose not to wait, and had no traffic at all getting to 95 nor while on it (for the next 7 hours). My wife and I have traveled extensively both for work and in retirement, and I can honestly say that this is the worst place we've ever stayed.

Adequate and great location, but I would not stay there again. A big shout-out to Stevie at the front desk. She pleasantly and efficiently catered to my requests to change rooms three times. It was a very sad, stressful time for my family, and Stevie made it easier. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK, but overpriced. It should be included in the room price. We had a surly waiter at dinner. My Coins cheeseburger was well done even though I’d requested medium rare. The whole place could use a makeover. It looks rundown and old. The extra blanket I asked for had holes in it.
