"NOT Worth the Price"

The Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia Center City is an overpriced hotel. I would never recommend staying here. Paying $500 for a 2 queen beds single room on a Saturday night is absurd at a hotel that is clearly not in a good area. The area surrounding the hotel is so bad that they have to hose down the sidewalks. Let that sink in if you think this location is convenient to walk to where you need or want to go. As I woman, I would never feel safe leaving this hotel if I had to walk anywhere. The rooms are simply a bathroom and a bed – dressed up in fancy décor to justify the pricing. There is no mini fridge – they have a “cooling drawer” in the dresser which is useless, and there is no microwave. There is complimentary coffee in the restaurant, but it wasn’t replenished timely when my husband stopped by twice in the morning and found no coffee available. Unfortunately we stayed here on the recommendation of a family member. Take my recommendation and do not stay here unless you like overpriced hotels. Our total bill for 2 rooms – 1 queen room and 1 king room – for 4 nights was $3,449.42. This hotel is NOT worth the price.

"A Better Hotel Experience"

I’m an Ling time Hilton honors member and had not been to this property before. its creative design seamlessly blends and artsy architecture with bold, hip-hop-inspired art and vibrant colors. Every detail, from the local touches in the "Just-Right Rooms" to the beautiful lobby and restaurant, creates a genuinely warm and inviting atmosphere. It feels less like a hotel chain and more like a stylish, neighborhood-centric experience. Love this place and experience

I stayed at the Canopy in Philadelphia and honestly loved it. The vibe is super modern and welcoming, with really nice design details everywhere you look. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was a favorite beautiful. Even though it’s right in the city, it was surprisingly quiet and relaxing. The location couldn’t be better everything’s close by, and the hotel’s restaurant, The Wayward, is amazing. Their food and cocktails were definitely a highlight of my stay. Overall, it’s a stylish, comfortable spot that makes you feel right at home in Philly. I’d definitely stay here again.

"Exceptional Four Day Stay!"

Our experience with the Canopy Hotel in Philadelphia was outstanding! It is close to a lot of things and I would choose this hotel again. Too bad there aren’t many in the hotel chain. For those with elevator phobia there’s a lovely marble staircase leading to the second floor rooms. There are little details that make add a bit of fun to the experience. I was charmed by the sayings imprinted on the hangers. The beds have reading lights built into the headboards. Such a clever idea; I want one of these! There’s funky and modern art throughout the common areas setting the atmosphere as a boutique hotel. Some good planning went into to the room design. The bath area is separated by a sliding door; one person can get ready while another is taking a shower. The entire bath/foyer area is also separated by a sliding door, making a peaceful sleeping area for the late sleeper or just a barrier for shielding hallway noise from the sleeping area. The rooms are nicely proportioned but not overly large. I found the bed to be very comfortable and there are 4 pillows of varying firmness on each bed. Sheets are A+ soft and smooth. Pump bottles of shampoo, lotion, ect are provided. The shower has two shower heads; it takes a little bit to figure out how to use the very modern looking fixture. There was always plenty of hot water and pressure. A hairdryer and lighted makeup mirror are thoughtful touches. The room has a refrigerator and a Nespresso machine. I’m not a fan and went downstairs to Federated Doughnut each morning for coffee. There is a filtered water machine down the hall along with the ice machine. A microwave in this area would be a nice addition. Without exception every person at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. We didn’t use the restaurant; Reading Terminal Market is just a short walk and has a great variety of places to eat. There are some public seating areas to use when meeting up with friends or just hanging out. One thing that could be changed: the tile in the shower is really slippery when wet. A textured tile should have been installed on the shower floor. Caution when entering and exiting the shower when wet!!
