World Famous Gospel Brunch at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, SC

What a fun place! Let’s start with the service: excellent. The menu was both American and typical southern. 2 of us ordered shrimp and grits and it was outstanding. Others in our party had jambalaya and pulled pork sandwich. Both great. The drinks were both strong and delicious. Everyone was eager to share the history of the art and items in the restaurant. So cool! The origins and reasons for display were very interesting, especially the shoes around the entrance. There’s also a very cool, very “down home south” outside patio bar with live bands, it was super fun to sit out there and listen to classic American rock played by an excellent band. If you’re in the area don’t miss this place! Fun fact: 1/2 of Al Capone’s bar from the original speak easy is at this location, ask the bar tender to show you the bullet holes!

At House of Blues, you can always count on having a great meal and an enjoyable experience. I tried the Smoked Brisket Sandwich, and it was very good. The Cajun Chicken Pasta, which we've had before, remains consistently delicious. As expected, the atmosphere was delightful. You can't miss with this place.

I'll start off by writing that I'm a huge HOB fan. We've visited their locations in Orlando, New Orleans, Chicago, Las Vegas, etc. The Myrtle Beach location just lacked the vibe. Hard to explain, the food was good, the drinks were terrible. The wait staff was underwhelming, there was no music playing, didn't seem like anyone was having a good time. We visited the company store, we usually always find something, maybe a CD by Howling Wolf or Billie Holliday...Nada. The store was as big as a coat closet and bereft of any merchandise. It was still a good time, but not what I've come to expect from HOB.

The sound system is outdated so it was hard to clearly hear what the actors were saying. It was also impossible to see the actors most of the time due to the size and setup of the room.

Went here to hear Pearl Jam as we were given free tickets at tourist bureau. Not crazy about the music but the venue was interesting to see.
