"Come for the ‘gators….stay for the staff!"

We initially stumbled across this place by being attracted to the ‘worlds largest alligator’ model outside. We felt bad about stopping in their car park just to see it, so we ventured in. Wasn’t expecting a lot, but what a delightful place. More alligators than a person could see in two life times, from babies to fully grown. These were accompanied by a host of other fascinating birds and large mammals. The standout however was the staff. Friendly enough on entry, but the star of the show was the man who gave us a talk about the gators, let us hold one, fed them for us and took us on a boat tour around the park. Unbelievably friendly (In a sincere way, not a customer service way) his enthusiasm was infectious, incredibly knowledgeable and just an all round good guy. He even took us on a tour of the Native American exhibit, even though it was done for the day, just because we were visiting from the UK and he didn’t want us to miss out. Sadly, I never got his name, all I can say is he was from New Jersey originally and he wore a bandana. He was worth the price of entry alone (which, unlike most things in the US was very reasonable.Special mention for the intern as well, who showed enthusiasm for the role and we really hope a full time employment comes from it. Please visit and support this place.

I loved this place. It is an old time highly interesting roadside attraction. You pay a one-price admission fee that includes everything. There is no constant need to pay extra to do this or do that -- just one price that includes a tour of the alligator habitat on a silently running electric boat. A highlight of the tour for me was the jungle animal presentation given by a very knowledgeable park employee. During the presentation you are given the opportunity to hold a small alligator, a large boa snake and other animals held only by the park employees. On our tour that animal was a skunk (whose stink glands had been removed). There was also a presentation of how indigenous people lived in the jungle. A sad thing is what the covid pandemic did to Jungle Adventure. During the pandemic the park was closed but animals still required care. That fact left areas of the park in need of repair but they still do a very good job. Go there and support the park. They need to continue to exist

Deferred maintenance! This place needs a major overhaul. From the moment you walk in there are hazard cones and things falling apart. Loose soggy boards scream safety hazards. Several animals not there as advertised. Overpriced for experience given. Two stars for the fact there are gators and the guide was super friendly and gives it his all! For ten bucks more take your family to Gatorland and be thrilled!

"Up to my, er, ears in alligators."

My wife and I spent several happy hours receiving an enjoyable and informative tour. We got to see the outsize alligators being fed, to handle some wildlife, including a (much) smaller alligator, to understand how Floridian Native Americans would have coped without stone for tool-making (fun fact, if you live in a wetland, there's not much flint lying around). There was also a boat tour of a wetland area, where we learned about alligator courtship (forget about swiping direction, whether you can swim well enough to support a female's weight determines success). As you can probably tell, we had a knowledgeable and friendly guide, who gave us plenty of time and attention. It could have been a routine tour - but it felt unique to us. It's a good value attraction offering I'd say three hours of stealth education for you and your children.

"Best gator experience"

Didn’t know what to expect, but we really enjoyed it. It takes about 3-4 hours to do all the things. Holding a gator, snake and tarantula was the best part for me. The kilted conservationist was our awesome and knowledgeable. I’m now off to buy some gin and raisins, come take the tour and find out why!

Frequently Asked Questions about Jungle Adventures Nature Park & Zoo

How long is the Jungle Swamp Cruise?

The Jungle Swamp Cruise takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete (depending on the tour guide and how interactive the guests are). Guests embark on a lovely scenic cruise through the park while the guide regales them with the history of early Florida settlers, animal habitats, eco-facts and foliage.

Is this experience appropriate for guests of all ages?

The park is appropriate for guests of all ages, however, please be aware that you will be interacting with live animals, so smaller guests may be afraid of some of the animals. Guests are never forced to hold or touch any animal. Parents are the best teachers, so if you are willing to have an open mind about the animal and the information presented by the guides about each animal, then the children are more willing to participate.

Do you have any recommendations for guests who reserve a day with them?

Recommendations for guests are that they wear comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes, bring a camera and a sense of adventure. They have a small cafe inside the gift shop that sells sodas, chips, etc.; however, guests can bring their lunches and enjoy them outside in the picnic areas or inside the cafe. The park opens at 9:30am every day, rain or shine (barring hurricanes, of course!), and the first tour starts at 10:30am, and the last tour of the day starts at 4:20pm.

Is Jungle Adventures wheelchair accessible?

Jungle Adventures has a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot. However, the Jungle Swamp Cruise is not wheelchair accessible. Guests must be able to walk down a small ramp to board the boat. Additionally, due to the nature of the vessel as well as lifting capabilities of the staff, wheelchairs and strollers are not allowed on board.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen and bug repellent are highly recommended. You can also bring whatever you wish onto the boat. However, guests are asked to collect their accumulated trash with them when they disembark.

What should I leave behind?

Guests are allowed to bring whatever they wish to on the boat. They just ask that they take whatever trash they may accumulate during the ride back off with them when they disembark. They have plenty of trash receptacles near the boat launch areas for their convenience. They do ask that the guest do not throw any items into the Green Gator River (especially food) as it endangers not only the guests, the tour guides but other alligators in the river.

How long does it take to fully experience the Jungle Adventures - A Real Florida Animal Park?

Anticipate spending at least 3 to 4 hours in the park, but you are not limited to that. The live guided tours and the Jungle Swamp Cruise will take about 2.5 hours of time, dependent on guest participation. Afterwards, you can wander around the park at your leisure checking out all the animals. You can also revisit any of the tours while you are there.

What are the 3 shows included with admission?

The 3 shows included with admission are the Wildlife Show, where you get to be hands on with a baby alligator and other cool critters; Native American/Old Florida Village, where you'll learn how the natives lived; and the Gator Feeding, where guides hand feed the larger alligators in the park. The gator feeding will be either a dock feed, where the guides entice the gators to "jump" for feeding, or a bank feed, where guides actually get into the sand and water area with the alligators for feeding. Either way, have your cameras ready for some exciting photos.
