Think outside the bustling city borders and instead discover this dynamic region’s natural and cultural history. Your certified interpretive guide will lead you to spectacular view planes, atop ancient eruptive sites, and into the wonder of the tropical mountain forests, where they will reveal and connect you with a Hawaii that few experience. Begin your day with a short hike up Diamond Head in the cool morning air. This hike is 1.6 miles and has an elevation gain of 700 feet. Atop the summit, your guide will bring to life the geologic and historic events of this famous landmark while overlooking Waikiki beach. Afterwards enjoy a local-style breakfast picnic with smoothies and freshly cut fruit.

Soak in the panoramic views from Waikiki to Waianae as you gaze from atop the Tantalus Overlook. When you look down on the Honolulu district from it's ancient volcano peaks, you can begin to understand how the landscape was shaped and how the forest watershed plays an important role for this iconic city. Enjoy an expert lead exploration through the thousands of tropical and subtropical exotic plants at the Lyon Arboretum - all accentuated by the thoughtful stories and naturalist knowledge of your guide. Rated: Easy to moderate; Diamond Head Hike of 1.6 miles with an elevation gain of 700 feet. Moderate hike and climb at Diamond Head with paved surfaces, steep stairs and short sections of enclosed tunnels.

Includes: All entry fees, breakfast, daypacks, walking staffs, snacks, and water.

Group size: Tour limited to 12 passengers

Restrictions: Guests on this tour should not be physically challenged and able to hike up steep paved walkways and numerous stairs with an elevation gain of 700 feet.
