Frequently Asked Questions about French Quarter Bike Tour

Where is the meeting point?
Biking Tour begins at our office, located at 214 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. Our office is located in the French Quarter directly across from the House of Blues. (Two blocks off of Canal Street and two blocks off the Mississippi River).

Is there parking available near the office?
There are many parking lots around the French Quarter. The closest to the office is at 111 Iberville St. (corner of Iberville St. and N. Peters). Their rate is $30 for up to 8 hours.

Is the bike tours appropriate for children?
Absolutely! We have tons of families as we're a great family activity. If you have children in your group, please make a note of it in your reservation. Please include their age and size, as the number of children's bikes we have is limited. For children up to 12 years old or 100lbs (45kg), we have two-wheeled tandem trailers. The passenger sits on a seat and can pedal or coast. All riders over 100lbs (45kg) must ride their own bicycle. We have various smaller sized mountain bikes for those able to ride on their own.

Am I required to wear a helmet?
Yes.

How big will my group be?
This bike tour operates in groups of 10 maximum.

What are some of the tour highlights?
City Park, Morning Call Café (cost not included, please bring cash if you would like to purchase snacks), Treme Neighborhood, Saint Louis Cemetery No. 3, Louis Armstrong Park, Faubourg Marigny, Congo Square, Avenue of the Creoles.

Can I bring my camera?
Yes, great photo opportunities.

What's provided with the tour?
Along with one of our phenomenal tour guides, every guest will receive a bike, helmet, and a bottle of water. Additional waters are available for purchase in our office for $1.

Do the bike tour rides in the streets?
Yes, we are on city streets for the majority of the tour. Our route takes advantage of streets with bike lanes as much as possible, but there are times we will need to share the road with other vehicles. For this reason, we recommend that all riders are confident enough with their biking skills that traffic will not be a problem. Also, younger riders must have enough skill to follow in a single file line behind the guide, so they are not in danger of veering into traffic.

If I am pregnant, can I join the tour?
Unfortunately, due to the risk to both child and mother, pregnant women are not allowed to participate in our bike tours.

Do we stop for food or drinks during the tour?
Yes, you’ll have a chance to rest your legs a bit at the Morning Call Café and taste those piping hot beignets for yourself! Please bring cash if you would like to purchase anything, the cost is not included in the tour. The café does not accept credit cards.

What is the weather policy?
Our tours operate rain or shine. We have ponchos available in our office for use should unexpected rain develop.
