Description
Our first stop of the day will be in Volcanoes National Park. Soak in the rugged and surreal landscape of all the "must see" spots within the park including the dramatically changed Halemaumau Crater. Explore the Visitor's Center, walk though steam vents and past sulfur bluffs while your Interpretive Guide teaches you the stories and legends of this other-worldly landmark.
Afterwards, we travel off road to a private lava tube known for its bright yellow and gold microbial mats growing on the cave walls. Explore this exclusive lava tube, only available to our guests.
Following this, you will stop at the beautiful black sand beach in Hilo. This famous beach is known for its glistening black sand and the sea turtles that are often nestled on the beach. You'll be given the chance to explore, learn about how the volcano creates many different types of sand, and take photos of the sleepy giant sea turtles.
