Description

from Austin Live Music Experience
You want to hear the best live music in Austin. But with so many venues, so little time, and countless truly bad cover bands playing for pennies on Sixth Street…this can be harder than you’d think.

Snagging a seat on our Austin Live Music Experience is like hitting the “easy button”. We take you to three awesome live music venues. Locations vary week to week, but we work with a dozen fun and funky places to catch live music. Maybe it’s two-stepping to a hipster country band or dancing to 90s tunes…you never know what to expect, but you can always expect a good time!

The best part is that while we visit THREE Austin live music venues, you get a fourth band for your own private concert…on board the bus! Our local musicians jam everyone’s favorite singalongs as we go from bar to bar. At the shows, they join the party…you’ll find them taking shots at the bar, posing for pics with you and your squad, and answering any and all questions you’ve ever had about life as a wanna-be rock star. It’s a behind-the-scenes experience like no other.

Disclaimer: We work super hard to guarantee live music at each of the venues for the entire time we are there…however musicians have a talent for being unpredictable. Sometimes they take unexpected breaks, sometimes there’s an unexpected set change. Just be aware this could happen, and come ready to roll with the punches and rock out with the on board band!

Frequently Asked Questions about Austin Live Music Experience

How long is the tour?
The tour is 3 hours long.

What is the cancellation policy?
Full refunds will be given up to 24 hours before the start of tour. Tours cancelled within 24 hours of the tour start date (or no shows) will not be refunded. Sorry about that. So control yourself on Sixth Street the night before and come ready for a good time!

Will the tour be cancelled if there are not enough people on board?
If we don’t have 10 party people on board, we will regretfully cancel the tour. It’s rare, but if it happens we will notify you the day prior to your tour.

What should I bring?
A sense of humor, beverages of your choosing, a significant other for our “date swap” at the end of the tour (kidding, kidding), and tips for your fabulous tour guide, band, and driver.

Do I tip the drivers and guides?
Our lovely people are working very hard to make sure you have an amazing, incredible, Instagram-worthy experience. They do this because they love Austin and they love sharing it. But rent is getting pretty ridiculous around here. So tips are always appreciated. We recommend $10 – $20 per person, as these tips are split among the tour guide, driver, and each band member.

Where will I meet the tour?
Meet your Twisted Texas guide at the Cedar Street courtyard at 208 W. 4th St. Remember that tours do leave on time, so we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the tour start time.

Can I bring alcohol on the tour?
Alcohol consumption is allowed onboard tourism vehicles. Except for the driver of course! Coolers are not allowed, with the exception of “lunch-box” sized coolers. If it won’t fit in your middle school locker, you can’t bring it on the bus. Here’s what you can bring onboard: Wine/Champagne Beer Hard Seltzer cans, and any other form of canned fruity drink.

What happens during inclement weather?
Austin gets 300 days of sunshine a year, and our lakes slowly turning into puddles is proof there is not too much inclement weather. Most of our tours are driving and/or indoor-oriented, so only the serious weather will be cause for a cancellation. If this happens, you will be notified as soon as possible that the tour will not run. You will be fully refunded if the tour is canceled due to weather.

What is the age limit on the tours?
Our tours are designed for those who have hit puberty, can drink legally, and have probably had their heart broken or dreams crushed once or twice. If you’re traveling with young-uns, well, the Duck Boats even hand out quackers. Guests must be over 21 for ALL Twisted Texas tours except the Weird Austin City Tour. No exceptions. No babies.

Can I bring food?
No food allowed on the bus. This is not a McDonald’s, eat before you come people. In fact, if you’re drinking, we strongly recommend this.

Is the bus temperature comfortable?
This bus is temperature climate-controlled, but Austin does get into triple digits…so come prepared for the weather!

Is there a place to store luggage while on a tour?
No. Please make arrangements to store your luggage elsewhere while on the tour.

Is the bus wheelchair accessible?
No. We apologize for this, but due to the style of the bus, it does not have this feature.
