"Holliday villa nightmare"

Where do I start arrived 5th May 2025 stayed for. 2 weeks. Flew from uk; we arrived 5pm Florida time after 9 hrs flight. We tried code to get in the villa which was wrong spent 2 hrs outside villa trying to contact virgin and the letting agent to gain access. Finally got in. First impression lovely. However this was not to be. The fly screens on the patio doors were hanging off. A big hole in the wall up the stairs. The door handle on one of the bedrooms was hanging off so could not shut door, the toilet holder in bathroom hanging off wall, air con broke , the settee in the sitting room was broke and when u sat on the cushion u disappeared down the hole in the settee , there was smashed wine glasses in the cupboard, there was ants under the sink but that’s expected due to how hot the weather was, on the first night we stayed in the villa I woke up to rain poring down inside from above the windows even though window closed. So the clothes I had next to window were soaked, So we got on to the renting agency to advise of issues, they sent out men just to repair windows whilst we were out for the day, when we come back we found a extra visitor in the kitchen. ( tree frog ) , we took photos of all the issues sent to the agent just in case they try to bill us for them, Any way I asked if we could stay in villa for an extra 3 hrs as our flight was not till 9pm but they wanted us out by 10am. I did say due to the inconvenience for the time spent trying to get in to the villa when we arrived they could at least give us the 2 hrs extra stay but they refused. Now don’t get me wrong the resort is lovely and clean. And tidy. But noise from the villa 2 doors up were noise over weekend starting from 4 Friday night , musics and partying untill Sunday morning, The security guard on gate was. Rude and had a attitude problem, the cops seem to be a on going presence in the resort arresting people , so there was no need to watch programme series of police in action, you could see everything in real time. So that’s our stay in a nutshell

If you are looking for a relaxing family vacation, this isn’t it!! As I’m typing this review there is a loud party across the street and we can hear the party throughout the house. It is currently 205 AM. I can hear every word because everyone is talking extremely loud and there is loud music. This has happened 2 nights in a row. Last night it continued until 4AM. The homes are nice, the resort itself is crowded daily. These houses are VERY CLOSE TOGETHER.

This was a holiday booked with Virgin Holidays in the UK. Booking with Virgin we had high expectations but were left disappointed. Lets start with the positives. We had a townhouse and it was a beautiful, large property and was an upgrade as we had only booked a 4 bed and this had 5. There was a welcome pack with some basic food items a well as some toiletries in the bathrooms. The villa had a keypad entry meaning we didn't have to carry keys around with us. Now for the downsides. The villa we were allocated wasn't even on the resort site, it was a 15 minute walk away. We purposefully chose this resort so we could have access to the facilities on site but as we were so far away we never used anything. Pointless us being on a resort! Our villa was on a road that had no private parking only unallocated street parking meaning often coming back late in the evening we had to park at the other end of the street, not great with tired kids or when it was pouring with rain! When we contacted Tropical Villas (the 3rd party agent) they were very unhelpful about where we could park. They also didn't have a clue about the Solara resort, the access to the site etc. The location of our Villa was in very close proximity to others, most of which seemed to be rented by large groups who were loud and smoking weed meaning we didn't use the plunge pool much as the smell was awful. You also do not get changes of linen or towels, even if you are there longer than a week. There is a washer and dryer so you'd have to wash everything yourself. There's no washing line or airer so we ended up having to put things over chairs to dry. The location is ok but still quite a drive even to Disney but there is a Publix 5 minutes away. All in all I would not recommend booking here unless you can guarantee a villa actually on the site!

My family and I booked here for fives days. The house was beautiful walls needed a lil TLC but it's a vacation home so we were understanding. The first day was fine as we were outside from sun up until sun down but when it became night time that's when we had the problem. The kitchen was infested with roaches. Couldn't even cook in the kitchen, so we had to eat out. Contacted management and owners who was anything but accommodating even after being informed of our kids allergies to roaches or potential risk of transporting roaches back home with us they still refused to move us or even refund half the money so we can go to a hotel. So our kids was forced to stay away from the kitchen. Day 4 we washed all of our clothes so we can pack and put the bags in the vehicle for safety only to find out the dryer does not work now we have wet clothes and have to find a laundromat to spend even more money. A vacation that was suppose to be so special for me and my family turned out to be a complete nightmare. We stayed in unit 1542 Carey Palms Cr However the club was amazing swimming pool felt wonderful, staff were friendly, food and drinks were affordable.

Solara Resort did not disappoint! We came for a family vacation and experienced wonderful staff, great food and plenty of activities for the kids. The home we stayed in was beautiful, clean and well managed by the actual individual owners. I would suggest checking out the surf simulator while you’re spending time at the resort. The on site gym is very nice as well, for those who don’t want to give up their routines while vacationing! I highly recommend Solara Resort for families, friend groups and even couples!

All properties are strictly non-smoking. Failure to comply with this will result in the removal of the guest from the property, without recompense or refund, and the loss of the security deposit or a charge to the guest's credit card if no security deposit is in place to cover the deep clean costs. The minimum fine for smoking is $500. Smoking is permitted outside of the property while all doors and windows are closed.
