"Poor transparency"

My stay was good, happy with the room and staff. The hot tub was quite dirty with a lot of granular dirt sitting on the bottom. The thing that ticked me off the most was that they only have pay parking $50 / night, a bloody rip off. On top of that were extra usage fees they added when I purchased parking for the night, an extra $40. They should just be honest and show all of this up front so there are no surprises. There is nothing worse than getting jammed extra once you are committed. I would never stay here again or recommend this or any place that puts it to you once you have already booked.

So far - it's wonderful! Arrived early and was checked in by David. He was kind, courteous and very accommodating. He swapped rooms for my kids to be closer to mine with a smile on his face - checking and updating notes to ensure we are all set. The room is large with a terrific view of the CN tower and the lake.

"They want to charge you for existing."

I went on business and I'm not even paying for this trip and I felt like I'm getting ripped off at every moment. There is a hidden 'Amenity' fee at check-in for $25/day that is worthless. It's a cash grab. Here is what it provides. • $10 Credit for lunch or dinner at Azure Restaurant, per night of stay (non-cumulative) - Overpriced anyways. • 24/7 health club access • High-speed internet (This barely works, I could barely get 7Mb/s) • Free local calls - EVERYONE HAS A PHONE • 2 bottles of water upon arrival (WOW) • Complimentary access to Press Reader offering over 7000+ newspapers and magazines - Just use your device. • A generous 20% discount on laundry or press services • 5% off spa treatments (with a minimum spend of $100) • 20% off laundry services I wouldn't bring my kids here because they have a array of candy and sweets on the table that if you dare move it they will charge you for. The bar fridge is filled to the brim with their stuff so I can't even put my leftovers from dinner in it. Ultimately I'm getting reimbursed for costs but it's the principal. They want to charge you for existing. Don't be sleazy.

This is a great hotel. Great location, great staff, great rooms. Special thanks go to Victoria, house keeping, Sherine concierge, and Fernando, outstanding staff members. We were treated like royalty. Get club room access it's well worth the extra, a quiet and relaxing place all day (lovely breakfast and, food and drinks early evening). Everyone so friendly and helpful. It's difficult to think of anything to criticise ...... except perhaps the amienity charge (just an excuse to charge you more) which is just very irritating. Over 30% of the bill are extras (including all the taxes).

"Peter in Azure at the Intercontinental"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 24, 2025
Found myself charmed by the quiet attentiveness of the good people at this Intercontinental. The front desk were super helpful but my favourite of all was Peter in the Azure restaurant who made me (a woman travelling on her own ) feel so comfortable and looked after. I first encountered him in the restaurant where he was super helpful in my menu choices but then noticed when I was running out of ketchup for my fries and asked if I wanted more. In subsequent evenings he was on bar duty and I visited for a brief nightcap before heading up to bed. He was well informed about the wine menu and guided me in my choice and then unobtrusively looked after me. Sometimes when you are travelling on your own you just want to hang out where there are people without necessarily wanting to engage with others. I felt Peter created a safe space for a woman on her own to do that; to decompress after a day’s work. Thank you Peter.
