Blue & Gold Fleet has been the premier provider of ferry and water excursion services on San Francisco Bay for over 40 years, providing regular ferry service to Sausalito.

Step aboard the Sausalito Ferry for a smooth, comfortable ride to this delightful community just across the Bay. The city of Sausalito offers the charm of a quaint Mediterranean seaside village tucked amongst the hills of Marin County.

Meander the narrow streets, browse through art galleries and shops, and dine at some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area, all the while enjoying stunning views of San Francisco.

We booked this tour using a Go-City pass. The tour was very good with great views although very windy to start with! Unfortunately the commentary could not be heard on the outside deck which was quite disappointing.

Conveniently located at Pier 39 in Fishermen's Wharf, they are easy to find. We only had about 5 hours for sightseeing in SF this trip, so we rode the cable car, did the one hour bay cruise with the Blue and Gold fleet, and had some sourdough. The cruise enables you to get great views of the city from the water, and close up views of the Golden Gate Bridge (which you pass under) and Alcatraz in a tidy hour long cruise. It runs about $35 per person. Crew was friendly and the boat had plenty of outside and inside areas for all kinds of weather. The recorded narration was much better than expected with clips from historians, eye witness reminisces, and appropriate and classy music. It was just well done. We loved it and was perfect for the limited time we had.

Are the ferries wheelchair accessible?

Blue & Gold Fleet's vessels vary in age and design. The accessibility of each ferry is dependent on the age and renovation status of the vessel. All vessels are wheelchair accessible and have assessable restrooms. However, wheelchairs can only access the main deck which houses the bar, the restrooms and wide open interior deck and viewing spaces. The upper decks can only be accessed by stairs thus wheelchairs cannot access the upper exterior decks.

Are snacks available onboard?

Yes. Snack bars are available on each ferry that sell chips, chocolate and other snack foods, as well as a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including water, sodas and juices.

Are the boats covered?

Blue & Gold Fleet boats provide indoor as well as outdoor seating. Indoor seating is covered with weatherproof windows with protection against wind, rain and salt water. Outdoor seating is available in designated safe sections of the boats.

Are dogs allowed on board?

Trained service animals may be brought aboard provided they remain under the passenger's control and pose no threat. Pets, including comfort animals and emotional support animals, can only be brought aboard if they are within an enclosed carrier that fits on your lap. They must be kept inside the carrier until you disembark from the ferry.
