"Excellent Room and Facilities; Atrocious Front Desk Experience"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed September 02, 2025 NEW
First, the room and overall facilities live up to the hype and expectations. They were excellent. But having stayed at many properties of different levels from budget to luxury, the check in experience was probably the worst I've had in recent years. While I would like to think the gentleman (Mr. Avery) was simply having a bad day, his condescending and dismissive attitude suggested otherwise. I arrived about 1.5 hours before the official 3 pm check in time (which I did not expect the room to be ready). In the first 20 seconds of our interaction while I tried to make small talk and explained my early arrival, he authoritatively interrupted me. by asking for the name of under the reservation. I was clearly already wasting his time. He then suggested that because i was only staying one night, i would be in the back of (digital) line for getting my room. When I asked him politely if I could expect my room to be ready by 3pm, he curtly responded "that's when check-in starts" and looked away from me. - basically to shut me up and end the interaction. Lastly, although I had to come back later to pick up my key, he was supposed to give me the welcome letter explaining the resort credit associated with my reservation during the first encounter , which he did not do (as confirmed by his colleague later). In our short interaction, he managed to make me feel both so small as a guest/human being, and also like a major inconvenience to him. Also a note about the resort credit - the credit was supposed to be automatically applied to my folio. That did not happen as nothing was applied to my folio when I was ready to check out. So I had to stand in line (at least 15 minutes) at the front desk at check out for manual adjustment. Once I reached the associate, he robotically made the adjustment but made zero attempt to apologize for the situation. While I was impressed by the facilities, I was disappointed and saddened by how the front desk staff treated its guests.

"A lovely 1st stay at Encore"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

This was my first stay at Encore. Usually, I'm at Wwyn. It's clean and safe. Request a room away from the nightclub, and you should get a wonderful night's sleep! I was on the 50th floor and had no issues waiting for the elevator or anything of that nature. The fitness center was immaculate, and the staff was kind. I had a minor issue (bathroom nightlight was broken), and it was taken care of within 24 hours. There were more than ample towels and paper products.

"Too noisy to sleep, way overpriced for the accommodations."
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

This hotel is ridiculously overpriced for the accommodations. It is way too noisy to sleep. The bests are uncomfortable and all your hear is the music from the nightclub all night. There are far better options for the price. Stay somewhere else.

"Encore Las Vegas"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 19, 2025 NEW
Encore is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. The stay was good, though on the pricier side compared to other options in Las Vegas. The room was spacious and comfortable, but I did notice some dust that should have been addressed by housekeeping. Overall, a nice experience, but there’s room for improvement given the cost.

"Wynn. NICE! Yes I liked it a lot."
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed August 18, 2025 NEW
Wow. Ok, that sums it up easily. After being punished for my sins by staying in the Park for BlackHat I moved over to the Wynn on Friday and Saturday for Defcon. Booked a room using the Amex "Fine Hotels" option which was expensive but cheaper than direct as it was only a few days out. Smart move. The difference is night and day. Walked up to Wynn registration, they looked me up, explained that I was in Encore, but they would happily send my bags over. Need water? Sure. They checked me in, got me my keys, showed me all the weird little perks ($150 off on massage, $30 off on the food over the fridge, $30 for breakfasts, etc) Just all sorts of little weird perks. I tried the spa/massage. WOW. I have not had a professional massage in years and came out of the room at least an inch taller. Spa, hot tubs, humidity room, sauna, everything is just AMAZING. Room: They use space well and everything was top quality. Service was top quality. Heck the bathroom was top quality. It looks better than that picture you see, they really are nice rooms that are airy, comfortable, and clean to a point. Food was delicious. Jazabar was outstanding for breakfast, Sinatras was quite tasty, and the other italian place over by the super expensive car shop was equally delicious with top notch service. You feel like a person here, not a cog, and I do appreciate that. Possibly the only time I felt a bit off was when I had to send some lockpicks back home so I didn't have to deal with TSA. $80 to send Fedex is pricey, but the people at the business center were very nice, offered water, etc. It's a small thing but heck I'll mention everything. Casino was nice, fun, clean, good dealers at the craps table. Orange Juice was quite nice and worth it. Overall this is what Vegas was 20 years ago and while the MGM has slipped Wynn keeps up the quality. Yes it costs more, but if you;re going then you are spending the most important currency: Your TIME. Make your time count. It's worth it to do things right.
