"Family stay for Disney trip - simple and comfortable but “breakfast included” rate is a scam!"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Stayed here with family (2 adults, 4 kids) whilst visiting Disney parks. Great location, 20min walk or $12 Uber ride from the park entrance. Rooms are tired but clean, plenty of hot water, towels replaced and bins emptied daily but housekeeping doesn’t make beds up except on request. Good laundry facilities, couldn’t get the app to work but Reception will change bills into quarters for you and you can buy detergent either there or in the in house gift shop which is better value. Breakfast simple but tasty and a decent enough choice - be warned though that if you pay in advance for the breakfast to be included, the credit you get doesn’t cover the standard buffet cost (outwith tipping cost of course)! So we got charged $60 for 3 days despite no extras at breakfast, I was not at all impressed by this. Pay in advance and then pay more…..a scam. I’ve stayed at other DoubleTree hotels and at those, breakfast included rate means no extra fees.

"Disappointed by Poor Service and Lack of Follow-Through"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed July 14, 2025
I chose the DoubleTree Hilton for its affordability, proximity to Disneyland, and the advertised availability of room service. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. Check-in was my first red flag. I arrived about 30 minutes early and was told the room wasn’t ready—which I understand—but even after the official check-in time (4pm), I didn’t receive my room key until after 5 p.m. The front desk agent, Maria, apologized and agreed to waive parking for two vehicles for the duration of my stay due to the delay. That promise would later be walked back. The amenities were underwhelming. The rooftop pool was small, surrounded by a parking lot view—not exactly a relaxing setting. When I asked about water fill stations, I was given inaccurate information and ended up making multiple trips only to learn they didn’t exist. Room service was another letdown. Despite being a key reason I booked this hotel, it turned out not to be available. We were told to come downstairs and order takeout instead—defeating the purpose of in-room dining. The worst part was checkout. I asked to confirm that both nights of parking were waived, but only one was. When I asked to speak with a manager, Kimberly told me she’d need to verify with Maria before doing anything. I told her it felt like I was getting the runaround—and unfortunately, I was right. She promised a call back within an hour, but it never came. I had to follow up multiple times myself, only to have Maria deny what she originally told me and say that Kimberly had directed her not to accommodate me. The only positive I can mention is that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. But you can find that anywhere nearby—and likely with better service. Overall, this stay was marked by poor communication, broken promises, and frustrating customer service. I would not stay here again.

"bedbugs & avoidant staff members"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

I stayed at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort – Convention Center for the 4th of July weekend and discovered bed bugs in my original room (545). I reported the issue to the front desk the next morning and was given the contact info of the property manager, who promised to investigate and follow up. While I appreciate that they moved us to a different room, I was surprised that I had to be the one to initiate follow-up. When I checked out, the front desk staff didn’t mention the issue at all and simply said, “Hope to see you again,” which felt dismissive. It’s now been 5 days with no response, despite two emails — one with photos, and another with a detailed follow-up. I’ve spent my own money decontaminating my belongings and gave the hotel every opportunity to make this right. If this is how they handle a serious health and safety issue — by completely ignoring it — I have to wonder what else might be overlooked behind the scenes. I’ve attached a photo of the bed bug I found in the room. Hilton guests deserve better.

"Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Overcharged Thousands, Zero Accountability"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed June 28, 2025
This was by far one of the most stressful travel experiences I've ever had. We booked two rooms at DoubleTree Suites through Booking.com with a confirmed total of almost $800ish for a three-night stay. We even chose the “pay at property” option. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. The DAY we were driving 12 hours from our hometown to California, I discovered the hotel charged my credit card almost $1,400—not once, but THREE TIMES. We hadn’t even checked in yet. We spent hours on the phone while on the road, going back and forth between Booking.com and the hotel trying to figure out who was responsible. It was stressful, chaotic, and completely ruined the start of our trip. Only after enough pushing did a manager named Stephanie finally agree we would only be charged the original amount. A staff member named Paola also helped with that—credit where it’s due. BUT it didn’t end there. Once we got back home, we found out we were charged AGAIN—another $1,400+ on top of what we had already been charged. No explanation, no warning, no apology. The lack of accountability and communication was shocking for a DoubleTree property. We expected professional service and got a financial nightmare. Never again.
