"Convenient location in downtown Boston"

A very good place to stay, convenient to an orange line T subway stop, the Tufts medical center, Chinatown, and the theater district. The hotel seems to be newly converted from a previous building, so everything seems new. Rooms are sizable. On weekends, visitors can enjoy live music in the lobby restaurant/bar.

"Excellent location for a family visiting Boston"

Our family of 4 visiting from Australia spent 5 nights in 2 interconnecting rooms at the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown, Boston in December. The location of this hotel is excellent - walking distance to Boston Common and literally next door to Tufts Medical Centre T (subway) stop, with easy access from there via subway all across the city. The lobby of the hotel has a bar and restaurant, and on street level there is a Starbucks which was always buzzing with hotel guests and staff from the medical centre across the road. Prior to booking we had read some reviews complaining about noise from nearby nightclubs in the evenings. I am pleased to report that this was definitely not our experience - the area was quiet and felt safe.

The rooms are highly outdated, falling part and dirty. Parking sucks and is so expensive. Not to mention the loud noise outside my window. I couldn’t sleep. The mattress was uncomfortable. Don’t let the updated front desk area fool you into thinking you’re staying at a nice quality hotel.

"An ordinary busy city centre hotel"

Stayed over Halloween, the main advantage of this hotel is its location for the freedom trail, train station and harbour all easy to walk to. Surge pricing in effect greatly increased prices the day before . Having used the local metro now (easy to use) back from Harvard should we ever go back and surge pricing in effect we would just stay a bit further out. Nothing really stands out , no recognition for being a diamond member which is one of the main reasons I continue to stay in Hiltons.

My 5 stars goes for the front office people especially for Touriya ,she was very welcome,giving tips,where to eat,how to manage downtown. She is very professional, lots of knowledge,very kind and always with good humour. We wanted also to express our appreciation to Mila. Very nice, kind great check in.
