"Westgate lied to us about a room with mountain viewss"

I am giving a 1 star because when we booked the room we asked for a room with a view of the mountains on the top floor so we could see the mountains which was like the one we had on our visit 5 years ago. However what we got was a room down in a valley with zero view and loud highway noises. We called down to the lobby and described the room we had expected and told we would get was a room with views of the mountain and further described it as having a hot tub. We were told we could change rooms in the morning as it was very late. HOWEVER , in the morning the lobby manager called and said that there was no room for us with mountain views and basically said it wasnt her fault that the person who booked our room lied to us. So we flew all the way here to this hotel expecting to wake up with the beautiful mountain views that we remembered. But i sit here listening to heavy traffic noises and seeing nothing but trees in a room with zero view. Total bait and switch. Dont fall for it like we did.

this place is so incredibly trash, despite what people tell you there are so many things wrong with it For starters: weight issues Often the slides have a weight limit for most of not all their slides, at first you might think "oh it's just unfortunate for overweight people" but no, even if your in really good shape, your still too heavy to ride a slide, not to mention the weight limits, the weight limits show just how poorly constructed these attractions are, the max weight limit is typically around 180 to 280 meaning even if your nowhere near the limit, one extra person can ruin it all for you Weather: All the images you see in photos are lies, complete lies it's always raining, or there's always scattered thunderstorms that close down the parks for hours and sometimes indefinitely Finally: They charge you SO MUCH MONEY for a singular purchase it's actually insane, me and a family member went down to one of their cafe's to get something as minimal as 2 food items, and two drinks. They charged a total of 40.00$ for it. Room amenities: The wifi is poor, very poor, you will often find yourself having to struggle to find a good spot for wifi, hell, data is better than wife and even then the data is not that great either Overall? Don't come here, it is a WASTE of both money Time And overall mental health

We visited here July 12-19. We checked in around 5:30pm , and it took about 20 min. We got a map and was told where everything was , where to park, etc. We got a one bedroom deluxe condo. It was very spacious for our family of 4. The only thing was the pullout couch could’ve used a new mattress. I texted the number and they brought us the linens we needed. Our unit was clean, and our view was incredible! We ordered pizza to our room from the roaring fork. It was very good! We weren’t far from the mountain top pool , where we frequently visited. They had a live band pool party one of the afternoons. Great drinks! We enjoyed the waterpark, mini golf, and the playground! The shuttle was helpful to get around the resort. We also took the free trolley into gatlinburg several times! We saw 5 bears from our unit throughout the week. We will definitely return to this amazing place! Thank you Westgate for a memorable vacation!

Upon arrival at the resort, it was COMPLETE chaos! This chaos was different- there was absolutely no rhyme or reason to anything going on- it was not even organized chaos, it was just simply pure madness. My husband waited at the bar (Southern Comfort) he asked for a bourbon list of which they did not have. My husband spotted an EH Taylor barrel proof and inquired about the price and was told “oh that one is more than you are going to want to spend.”Our concierge, Mimi…..she took my husband to our lodging area. Underwhelming to say the least. We stayed Westgate Palace and Westgate Lakes both in Orlando and had amazing opinions about the properties. Yes, Westgate Palace is slightly dated but the grounds are immaculate, the rooms are well planned, and the overall resort is beautiful. Westgate Lakes is breathtaking!!! Our accommodation at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort: bathroom dingy and outdated (mildew forming in the corners of the showers), toaster was broken(they brought a dirty used replacement), porches not screened in, parking leaves a lot to be desired, and the walls were (particularly the sound coming from the ceilings) paper thin. The kitchen counters looked like they were from the 1990s, the furniture (couch) was very broken down and uncomfortable to sit on. And yes, probably trivial but the televisions are not even smart TVs. Smart TVs are a dime a dozen. Mimi told us that we did not have to stay for an entire presentation because we had already completed that obligation in FL and said we could pop in and sign our disinterest and leave (wish I had recoded this as she completely backpedaled on her words). We were upfront and told her right away that we 100% had no interest in buying. On the day we were supposed to just sign off, Mimi wanted to pick us up in a golf cart. I told my husband that I was not comfortable with this as I suspected that we were going to be held hostage and boy was I right. Upon walking in Mimi wanted to escort us immediately to the sales floor and wanted to force us to tour the property. I reminded Mimi about how she said we only had to sign off and she immediately said “I absolutely did not say that.” My brother, sister-in-law, husband, and I all heard it, but it will always be an “our word against her word” type of situation- though I know in the future I will 100% record!!! I was very direct and to the point with Mimi and explained that I was going to hold her to her ten minute promise and set the timer on my phone, and she immediately accused me of being hostile and escorted us to the director (young blonde guy). He was no better and referred to me as “honey”- I immediately corrected him. I’m at least 20 years older than the gentleman and unless he’s an African American momma who is bringing me in for the most comforting hug ever, he had absolutely no business to refer to me as “honey”- very unprofessional and degrading! Caleb kept telling us we were lucky to be there because the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort property was/is supposedly “better” than the two we stayed at in Orlando. Caleb also explained to us that we were staying in an accommodation that was $1k per night…….umm, if an accommodation is $1k per night then it better at least have a new toaster and smart TVs. My husband and I have seriously considered buying a time share. We have previewed Westgate, Bluegreen, and Holiday Inn resorts and under previous experiences we might have been swayed by Westgate. However, after our Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort experience, we will NEVER consider Westgate.

The resort itself was very spacious, beautiful and extremely well maintained. The general layout was also top class. However the overall service was very poor. After spending a considerable amount of money to stay at this resort there was no cleaning service offered in the rooms and no breakfast on offer with one's stay.Although it's worth staying at this place for a few days management definitely needs to improve, especially in the 2 areas listed above
