"Noise level from adjacent condo is unreal."
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed February 03, 2026 NEW
We arrived at the property and wrongly assumed we needed to check-in at the main building. We were redirected to the restaurant to check in on a Friday night. The room smelled of so much cologne, you could taste it. It started to snow pretty good, but being on the top of the mountain, I am a realist - there’s no way they’ll be able to maintain the roads that didn’t appear salted or brined. We packed up and drove an hour + home. Thankfully, we did. We received a text to shelter in place due to cars blocking the iced roads and unsafe conditions. On Sunday night, we arrived back to the room to find 2 other cars in the entire span of 3 buildings. We walk in to hear THE LOUDEST AND HEAVIEST WALKER ON THE PLANET DIRECTLY ABOVE US. Literally, 36 other adjacent condos EMPTY, but we have a guy that sounds like he’s getting his steps in above us and then starts the jacuzzi at 10:40pm. He goes until midnight. Gets up at 6am, walks to the bathroom and then goes back to bed. He’s up again at 8 and the noise stops around until 10am. I am not a complainer and I know it’s impossible to think that from this review, but I called the front desk and asked if the person above us is staying another day or if he’s checking out today because if he’s staying, we’re driving home and we’re done. (Our 4 kids are quieter and our amenities are nicer at home. We just wanted a local vacation to reconnect and explore.) I just needed to know….and is anyone else booked for the condo above us during our stay? He doesn’t know, but said he would send someone to talk to the man above us about noise. I told him don’t worry about it. It’s not his problem. It’s ours and we can just go home. I wasn’t asking for a refund or anything, but we’d just cut our losses. Not only does the entire condo smell like a department store fragrance department, but our sheets, themselves, smelled like cologne. I’m hoping they’re clean and housekeeper just bathed in cologne and then their clothing came in massive contact with the sheets. We kindly requested new sheets that we would change ourselves, so not to put out housekeeping. The only noise we hear from upstairs is housekeeping and maintenance in small intervals. Fine. Understandable. Tuesday night, we arrive back after a day of exploring to find an extra car in the vicinity and lights on directly upstairs from us AGAIN. Tons of condos empty and they had to stack us. It’s now 1:22 AM on Wednesday morning and after what sounded like furniture being moved, dropping items and walking all over the place ALL NIGHT LONG, our new upstairs neighbor has finally quieted. We were supposed to check out on Thursday, but we’ll be leaving as soon as my husband, who is soundly sleeping, gets a full night’s sleep. I am an absolute joy without sleep and I can’t do this one more night. Overall, the staff was pleasant, but whomever is booking these condos doesn’t need to stack people when there’s about a 95% vacancy right now. The water pressure was great, the bed was decent and the views were nice.

"WARNING!! Bedbugs!!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed December 18, 2025
Beautiful views beautiful resort BEDBUGS GALORE!! Of course Westgate refused to take responsibility!! Even when we took the bugs directly from the room (in a jar) to the front desk and showed them pictures of what bedbugs look like, they still adamantly denied that it was their problem. I am seeking a lawsuit for damages to my personal property and my house.

"Don't Go to a Sales Presentation"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed December 07, 2025
Was offered tickets to Annekesta and a gift card if we listened to what was supposed to be a 90 minute no pressure presentation. The sales rep did an outstanding job making his pitch and asked us to be considerate during it. My wife and I obliged with this request and then things took a complete 180 when the manager made her sales pitch. When we told her multiple times we would not be purchasing anything she turned into the wicked witch of the west. She tried four times to pressure us into something we didn't want to do.

"Beware of S1BL rooms, they are dungeons"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed December 01, 2025
Beware rooms vary wildly in layout and features. We checked in late on a Sunday for week stay, it was around 8 PM the last week in October. We exchanged from a Hyatt timeshare in Key West. Our confirmation state 1BSL, which II said it had a balcony. It was in fact a standard one bedroom lock off. In Westgate terms, that gave them the opportunity to try to upgrade the standard 1 bedroom to a deluxe room and charge $80 dollars a night! We went to 3 rooms the first night - it was exhausting. They actually gave us keys to a room that was occupied, opened the door and there were guest belongings in the room. Many of the 1 bedroom units on the first floor are built into the hillside and feel like a basement. Windows facing the dirt and no windows that bring in actual sunlight. We were so tired the first night, we slept in one of these. After the messy check-in process of 3 different rooms, a room supervisor finally assisted us in the morning. They did not have any King one bedrooms, they did “upgrade” us at no charge to a deluxe room - but they did not have any King one bedrooms. We ended up in a one bedroom with 2 queen beds. This is was a very nice room with the amenities and the view you see on their website. In the end we were happy with the room, but it was a difficult process. Just be aware that the one bedroom you book on the website will probably be a dungeon. All rooms were clean, most employees were pleasant. With the exception of timeshare staff, we only had one encounter and he was very dismissive. Which is fine, we know the Westgate timeshare gig…had zero interest. Would we go back - no, are we glad we went - yes, but we will not be back.
