A mandatory, non-refundable pet dog fee of $150.00 USD per reservation will be charged at check-in for pet dogs reported at the time of check-in. An additional $150.00 USD per reservation penalty will be charged for pet dogs unreported to the Front Desk at check-in and found in the room/suite (also known as an “Unauthorized Pet Dog Penalty Fee”). During our stay at Westgate Lakes & Resort, we had a few frustrating encounters. While at the waterpark, a security guard and his manager told my mom to put the umbrella down, even though she has a medical condition that requires her to stay out of the sun. Although the situation was upsetting, the manager was very kind and professional in handling the issue once we explained my mom's condition. Later, when we went to rent bikes and fishing rods, an employee refused to allow my dad and 8-year-old brother to fish, despite a clear sign stating that kids under 16 don’t need a fishing license. The employee was unprofessional, smiling while denying them, which was frustrating. We spoke with the front desk manager, who was both understanding and professional and addressed the issue appropriately. While the manager's assistance was appreciated, the overall experience was still disappointing due to the lack of professionalism from certain staff members. It’s unfortunate that a few bad experiences overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable stay. The manager was the most helpful and she will talk to the woman about it.

My experience with Westgate was a nightmare disguised as a “vacation invitation.” It all started when my boyfriend and I were on vacation in Orlando. As we were leaving one of the theme parks, a man offered us a “day pass” to visit Westgate’s resort. He promised transportation from our hotel, a buffet breakfast (which ended up being worse than a cheap 7-Eleven combo), and $110 in cash just for attending. None of that turned out to be true. What followed was hours of manipulative sales tactics. We were greeted by a salesman who was very friendly at first—but it was clear his mission was to pressure us into signing a contract. He asked us personal questions about our income and travel spending, just to figure out how much they could squeeze from us. He then showed us old, run-down facilities while pretending it was a luxury resort. He sold us the idea that we’d get a 7-day stay in Orlando every year, and access to 5-star hotels around the world through Interval International for $400–$500 per stay. The reality? Completely different. Three months later, when I tried to use this so-called “exclusive benefit” with Interval, every search returned prices over $1,200 per week. I searched in low season, across multiple dates and destinations, and never found what was promised. It was all a carefully constructed lie to get us to sign. Five months later, I tried to cancel the contract. I called and emailed them with evidence that what they sold us didn’t exist. They took weeks to reply, and when they did, they told me that this was “not a valid reason” to cancel. Are you kidding me? I was scammed and that’s not enough. They passed my case from one department to another with no real solution. A month later, I received a notification simply stating the contract couldn’t be canceled—with no explanation as to why I couldn’t find any of the properties they had promised. Where is the logic? Where is the ethics? Westgate sells a product that doesn’t deliver on what’s promised and then washes their hands of any responsibility. They abuse people’s trust and use aggressive, misleading tactics to trap families into long-term debt. I’m still paying for something I don’t want, that doesn’t match what was sold, and that I’ll never use. I’m desperately trying to get out without hiring a lawyer—but Westgate’s lack of accountability makes it nearly impossible. If you’re reading this because someone offered, you a “package” — run. It’s a scam disguised as a vacation investment. No benefits. No support. Just debt, frustration, and lies.

Recently visited resort and initially found the resort to be beautiful and well maintained. However, our last night there, we ending up chasing 2 huge cockroaches up until 2am and we had a 8 hour drive back home! On day one we saw one face up dead and thought at least he was dead but have two live one in which one flew over our bed and the other in bathroom. Needless to say we got no rest which made the end of our trip horrible! I did complain to front desk at checkout and ANASTASIA said would note my account! UNACCEPTABLE! Oh well I guess need to bring raid if stay in the future!☹️☹️☹️😡😡😡

We stayed in Building 80, and while our room was very nice and spacious, check-in was frustrating. We had requested a room in Building 60 to be near two family members who had separate rooms there. We arrived around 2 p.m. and were told a room in Building 60 just needed a final inspection. We waited all afternoon, but when we finally received a text at 7 p.m. saying the room was ready, we were informed at the desk that it had already been given to someone else. I was understandably upset. The manager then found another room in Building 60, but when we went to it, it was already occupied—someone’s belongings were all over the room. It was very concerning that we were given a key to someone else's occupied room. Ultimately, the manager provided us with a room in Building 80, separate from our family. Though not what we initially wanted, the room turned out to be very nice. To make up for the confusion and inconvenience, the manager also waived the resort fees. While the situation was stressful at first, the final accommodations and management's efforts to rectify the situation helped improve the experience.
