"Great hotel, but unresolved internet issues"

The hotel is very beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are very comfortable and the pool is nice. Our stay would have been great if we hadn’t had this problem. The room did not have internet access, and we spoke several times with reception. They sent two different engineers, but neither seemed to fully understand the issue. They appeared hesitant to explain what was happening. Each time, the only thing they did was reset the access point that was failing (this is our assumption, as no one explained it to us), and the internet would work for only five to ten minutes. Even Annette told us that the internet was working, despite the problem continuing. What annoyed us the most was that the issue was never fixed, and at times they even questioned whether the problem actually existed. That is why we are leaving this review.

Southernmost Resort is wildly overpriced for what it offers. This is not a resort experience — it felt more like staying in a dressed-up motel. We were placed in a first-floor room and heard constant, heavy footsteps from the room above us all night. Sleep was nearly impossible. The room itself was extremely basic and did not match the polished photos shown online in any way. Very plain, dated, and lacking comfort. There was nothing “resort-like” about the room or the experience. The only redeeming feature was the bathroom, which was decent. Beyond that, this stay was a disappointment and absolutely not worth the price. There are far better places to stay in Key West for the money.

Resort is nice, food and drinks good, staff great. But our flight was canceled due to the winter storm so we stayed another night. We were charged $200 over the nightly rate we booked. A special stranded travelers rate?

Most importantly, the staff is first rate. From Annette and Dalma at the front desk through every member of the staff was gracious and professional. The breakfast was delicious (one of the best omelettes I have ever had). The rooms are beautiful. Ask for an ocean view.
