"Park is OK but DONT pay for the Flash Pass"

I took my family here in late Aug and found the six flags park to be very good in many ways however we had major issues with their “Flash Pass” activation that we had paid an Extra $228 for. When we asked to use the flash pass the staff manning the rides didn’t seem to know how the App worked so after being rejected about three times and still not managing to find a staff member who could help we were directed to the Flash office 10 mins away. The staff member in the flash office explained that I had to scan a QR Code (in their office), then go to another website, then provide a new username and new password etc etc. The staff member tried to help and do it for me and so we all walked back to the ride, waited in line again only be told that we had not been booked on that ride so we still didn’t get on. We do feel somewhat ripped off having spent $228 on the flash pass that we didn’t even get to use, not even once. I wrote to the Park twice (guestrelations@sixflags.com) and explained (as above) and they completely ignored my emails. It was very disappointing to have paid so much extra and receive nothing for it. Also, if the extra payment comes with so many obstacles / different websites and QR codes to scan then the least they could you could do would be to train their staff manning the rides as to how it should work. In summary, the park is fine but I would advise against anyone using (paying for) the Flash Pass as it costs a great deal extra and from our experience it is near impossible to use. We also witnessed other people complaining about their Flash Passes not working whilst we were there. C'mon people, its 2025, getting an App to work is not rocket science and you should at least acknowledge a complaint when you receive one.

"Great rides, the large groups use foul language and cut the line making other feel uncomfortable."

Went today for the first time in about 20 years. I grew up in NJ and moved to PA. I have frequently gone to Dutch Wonderland, Hershey Park and Dorney Park, and I have to say the rides at Great Adventure are much better. However my overall experience has been better at the other parks. The staff was wonderful and pleasant at GA and I found the rest rooms very clean. The biggest deterrent for me is the other guests at GA specifically the camps that cut the lines and are cussing and yelling. They unbuckle and stand on rides, specifically Roaring Rapids and it slows the whole line down. They constantly cut the line and yell at the staff who tries to tell them to wait in line. They really need security to remove them from the park. I would not consider it good for families. My children range in age from 8 - 13yo and they were afraid of the other older kids that came with large camps/schools. I would recommend going after 4 pm when they leave.

"Six Flags NOT SO Great Adventures"

After really looking forward to a family day out at six flags, we definitely left there feeling disappointed. I’ll start by saying we got there early, around 10:10, so by the time we parked and got in line, we entered the park very quickly - at 10:30. We went straight to the flash which was closed and continued to remain closed our entire visit. We did see them testing the ride and workers doing multiple test runs on the ride itself. If the ride is safe enough for about 8 employees to do multiple turns then I’m not sure why the public can’t go on it. We did see people start to form lines outside the ride multiple times during the day given they saw employees going on the ride, so they assumed it was about to open. The security could have done a better job of informing people of what was happening. This wasn’t the only closed ride for our visit, there were multiple rides closed either the whole day or for parts of the day due to ride issues. I’ve never been to a theme park that has had sooo many rides closed or disruptions. Very disheartening to wait in a line to be told 20 minutes later it’s closed. Even more disheartening to pay for a park ticket for a specific day but then rides your kids wanted to do that day are closed the whole day with no advance warning. Also, there is no way for you to then change your ticket to a day when more rides would be open. Other issues we found were poorly trained staff. The staff we experienced could never work at a Disney or universal studios where the job is all about efficiency and keeping the lines moving. There were rides which we saw start with multiple empty seats, while employees were just taking their time and having full blown conversations with each other. This led to longer lines forming and frustration from multiple guests. We also saw rides just sitting there waiting, again because employees weren’t efficient in checking people and having them ready and waiting by the time the ride got back. Staff would just about always finish conversations with each other (not about the ride, just general chit chat) before continuing to work and let people on rides. I’m all for team bonding and conversing with each other but not when you are now creating lines. If other theme parks can keep rides flowing continuously, then I don’t see why six flags staff can’t be trained to do the same. Another complaint is they post height requirements for the ride, however my son who was above the height requirement of 48” was told he couldn’t go on a ride because the lap bar wouldn’t touch his hips. Safety is definitely important but if there is a weight requirement for these rides then this should be advertised on the website under the ride, and also at the front of the ride. The only way a child of 48” could have met the requirement expected is by being overweight. We didn’t eat at the park, just got drinks, as all the prices we saw were ridiculous for what you received. The one positive was that by getting there at opening we did get on rides with small lines, but by lunch time the wait times were long. Personally I wouldn’t come back given the amount of ride closures and overall lack of quality. If they are going to continue with minimal operation of rides then they should be reducing the ticket price.

"A Good Park that Isn't Treated Fairly"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

With the merger of amusement park chain giants Cedar Fair and Six Flags last summer, I had concerns about what would happen to the parks, especially those on the Six Flags side since Cedar Fair has 51% control of the new company. Everyone soon found out as the newly formed board led by the former Cedar Fair CEO began to remove rides from most of the parks during the off season but waited to announce the removals until close to the start of the 2025 season. This park lost around seven rides, including two coasters. That is not the way to treat a park. When I visited this park in July with a friend, the atmosphere seemed different. The park grounds looked to be clean, and the rides seemed to be running well. However, several rides were closed this day. People have posted on social media platforms that some of these rides have been closed multiple days. The workers, especially some of the ride operators and security personnel, are much more rude. I still like this park. It has potential, but the Cedar Fair side of the merger is not playing fairly with all the parks. Despite the issues, this park and other Six Flags parks need our patronage before they suffer the same fate as Six Flags America will face at the end of this season. Cedar Fair and Six Flags have nice parks; Six Flags is not the antichrist of parks as some would make them out to be. Though some may not like certain parks, please remember that the park you hate is one that someone else loves, and vice versa. Closed parks just makes remaining ones more crowded. We need to keep the ones we have left open and running well
