"Remember to visit the outdoor spaces! Check out the big bronze penny and Robert Indiana's LOVE in the Sculpture garden!"

I had a few hours to spare on my last morning in San Francisco so made a beeline for SF MOMA. We only had 90 minutes to dash around but it was doable and we saw practically everything there was to see; though of course not really taking the time to read everything. Aside, I do wish museums would do a quick-timed discounted ticket with a beeper to let you know when your time is up to leave so that folks with limited time can whiz around without having to pay full price. Even if they charged $10 for a 2-hour ticket first thing at opening and last thing before closing, they'd still be making money....and perhaps more from the folks deterred by wasting money on a general admission ticket when they don't have the time to truly appreciate it all. We saw Yayoi Kusama's Pumpkin which had a room to itself as well as her Infinity Mirror room titled: Dreaming of Earth's Sphericity, I would Offer My Love. There were some amazing Andy Warhol pieces plus beautiful works by Richard Artschwager, Gerhard Richter, Cady Noland, Robert Colescott and Roy Lichtenstein just to name a few faves. There was a whole collection using various materials by Anselm Kiefer which I enjoyed! Do remember to visit the outdoor spaces too! I loved the bronze Big big Penny and Robert Indiana's LOVE in the Sculpture garden on the 5th Floor as well as a large piece by Alexander Calder next to the Living green wall on the 3rd floor patio. Not to be missed! The museum shop is one of the best-stocked and I only wish my suitcase had space to take something to display back home. You can visit the shop without visiting the museum. Lovely experience and highly recommend it for all art-lovers!

"Not like the other MOMAs - less to it."

Underwhelming, and there's not much to it. Art is subjective at the end of the day, and different tastes for different people, but there's so much empty space in this museum. ITs surprisingly small, and the empty space leads to a lot a walking seeing very little. Modern art will have this, but it really stood out at this museum .
