The forum discussed information provided for this property is way off the mark and not accurate. My family and I stayed at this hotel for four nights this month and it wasn't what we expected, especially after reading multiple positive reviews. Checkin was fairly straightforward and easy, getting to our room was not. The property has a broken elevator and it just happened to be the one that was most convenient to our room. Opened the door to the room and a blast of leftover Chinese food and mildew hit our nostrils. The room was dark and dingy and not at all like the website showed. The bathroom was tiny and cramped. If you have more than two guests in this "suite" it will feel extremely small. When it came to feeling safe in the room I took the liberty of installing my own door jam as you could practically roll a quarter under the door that faced the outside hallway. Another potential security problem was one of the gates to the parking lot constantly stayed open allowing anyone access from the surrounding area. About the surrounding area: it does not seem to be most up and up kind of place with vagrants wandering around the convenience store next door, etc. We took the liberty of taking our valuables with us to the theme parks we visited as we felt as if the parking lots there were much safer. We also had people smoking marijuana around the hotel daily. Believe this was done in the staircases as we usually took the stairs to breakfast and could smell it. This hotel had a large number of high schoolers staying at it and they were your typical teenagers with noise, etc. We left the fan on to run nonstop during the night to alleviate the noise. The free breakfast was about what you would expect and with the teenagers flooding the lobby there was usually no place to sit. The last morning of our stay we sat outside in the unusually cold and windy weather. Halfway thru our stay we also had to re-key our room keys which was annoying.

"Electrifying stay…and not in a good way!"

This was the most shocking hotel experience I’ve ever had—literally. I was electrocuted by an outlet while plugging in my phone, no I’m not joking. There was a visible spark and a noticeable jolt going all the way up my arm. That is a serious safety hazard, not a minor inconvenience, and something that should never happen in a guest room. Unfortunately, that was only the half. The room was not clean to an acceptable standard: paper towels, toilet paper, and tissues were all partially used upon arrival. The paper towel roll even had visible dirty fingerprints and what appeared to be food residue on it. There were also old bobby pins on the floor, which made it clear the room had not been properly cleaned. The overall condition of the room fell well below what I associate with Staybridge Suites. It felt more like a poorly maintained roadside motel than a hotel under this brand. The air conditioning unit made a loud banging noise every time the compressor kicked on, and the pipes rattled constantly. Then there’s the additional noise—the pool area is extremely loud, open until 11pm, and appears to be completely unmonitored. If your room is anywhere near it, don’t expect to get to sleep at a reasonable hour. To their credit, the hotel offered a late checkout for our troubles, but given the noise levels, that feels less like a courtesy and more like a necessity. If that weren’t enough, the situation somehow worsened during the day: there was active drilling and banging right outside of our window. Not nearby—directly into the wall of the hotel. After an already disruptive night, awaking to that level of noise is unacceptable. Between the electrical issue, lack of cleanliness, and constant noise, I left with a headache to match the tingling in my arm from being electrocuted. I will be seeing a doctor about this, obviously. Perhaps most disappointing is the lack of follow-through. My husband was told that we would receive a call from management regarding these issues, and that call never came. That, more than anything, gives the impression that guest concerns and safety are not being taken seriously. We have had positive experiences with other Staybridge Suites locations, which makes this stay stand out even more—for all the wrong reasons. This property appears to have significant gaps in maintenance, housekeeping, and overall guest care. The electrical issue alone warrants immediate attention and quite obviously, the staff couldn’t care less. I would strongly encourage management—and the broader brand—to take a serious look at this location. This place being associated with the Staybridge name should concern ownership and stakeholders. Until then, I would not feel comfortable staying here ever again, or any IHG property for that matter. My husband is a rewards member, we’ve stayed at multiple properties under the brand, and have never had such a nightmarish experience until now. That being said, we will be looking into a different hotel chain next time we drive down to Florida. Absolutely unacceptable!

Expected much better room for cost. Room was dirty and dated. Hairs in shower. Smudges on counter from past used soap bars. Grime everywhere. Air conditioning smelled of mold. Missing closet doors. Windows with some odd peeling covering. Would expect this room to be 1/3 of what it cost based on condition and lack of thorough cleaning. Box springs were not covered either. I’m no princess, but for just under $330 for ONE night I would appreciate at least a clean room. Also very noisy - thin windows. Street side with sirens and street noise. Interior with running stomping feet and slamming doors. Front desk staff were friendly, and sheets/towels seemed clean, but those are the only positives I can say. Room MIGHT make sense for a bunch of college kids pooling their money for a flop house for spring break, but not so much for my quiet middle aged, middle class self.
