Great hotel and location. Why must I always offer 100 characters when I think brevity is better. Is that better or do you require more letters?

"We thought Millenium Down Town was back, but we were wrong!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

We frequented the Millennium Down Town several times, with my family residing there for over 30 days in 2013. The hotel and services were impeccable. The breakfast was wonderful. We moved to the Greenwich Village area and on this occasion, traveling as a family group of 8, we decided to stay at the M Social Millennium Down Town. We saw that it was no longer a Hilton, but we believed they had maintained the quality – what a mistake! I had a Hilton Diamond card. Unfortunately, our experience was very bad. I'm sorry. You have everything to be a spectacular hotel: great location, excellent facilities. You need to invest in your people, greatly improve the breakfast service, and treat guests with more attention and human care. Please reduce the reliance on machines (AI) for customer service. People like to be served by people.!I hope you all get better. Be happy!

"M Social NYC Downtown Scams guests"

I have complained SEVERAL times over the last 4 years staying at the Millennium NYC Downtown hotel located at 55 Church St. for charging a $2.50 "charity donation" AFTER you check out. After our bookkeeper caught it, we have to keep reminding them NOT to charge it when we check it. They confirm it is removed, and them on checkout, we get a printed receipt and it is NOT there. Only to find they charge our card AFTER we check out! We urge everyone who sees this on their M Social charges on their Credit card to report to the following entities. We are also investigating a class action against the Hotel. NYC Attorney General Tish James: https://ag.ny.gov/file-complaint/consumer NYC Better Business Bureau: https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint NYC Consumer & Worker Protection: https://www.nyc.gov/site/dca/consumers/file-complaint.page I am SICK of complaining to them to stop this predatory behavior on guests and tourists.

"Beautiful hotel, beautiful views, lots of history"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

Beautiful hotel, beautiful view and friendly staff. There is much more to this hotel than just the pretty views. We visited the 9/11 museum only to realise that this hotel was there when 9/11 happened, literally just across the road. The history of it is crazy. We were on the 34th floor and got an amazing views. Room was clean, amenities were pretty good. Location is great. There are two subway stations 2 minute walk. Lots of shops, coffee shops and restaurants around the hotel. Only thing I can complain about really is the elevators. You will wait a while to use one and there was an unexpected charge of $242 taken off from my deposit which i assume is tourist tax - but my complaint is that I wasn’t made aware of this or wasn’t told how much it would be. No mention of it at all.
