Our business function went smoothly and were supported by wonderful Outrigger staff. Nelson and Chelsea from banquets as well as the valet attendants and Bell desk staff, front desk and Trichael from sales were awesome. We continue to come to this property for our business needs because of the staff!

"A stay at the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Outrigger Kaua'i Beach Resort and Spa. Our room overlooked the drive to the resort, but also the view of the mountains. Our room had a refrigerator, which we put to good use. We had a veranda with a small table and a couple of chairs. There were several connected pools, a pool slide, beach and ocean. The grounds were well maintained and had access to the beach. The Outrigger had taken over the resort from another owner and had been updating the resort after it had been allowed to wear down. It had just reopened the month of our occupancy. Carpets were being replaced, painting was ongoing. There are a couple of restaurants and bars. The laundry was being upgraded so was closed, though there was an off-site location offered for use. There seemed to be only one microwave for the complex found in an alcove on the third floor in an adjacent building. Our floor had a fresh water dispenser. The floor below ours had an ice machine. Normally there are daily resort fees in addition to the room charge. There is a daily parking fee if one drives a vehicle. The resort was relatively quiet.

The location was lovely, our room was nice but only available through an outside entrance. The best experience was in the restaurant at the outrigger with our marvelous waiter Kala. We tried to eat in his section every night.

"Words can not describe how terrible this experience has been for us.."

Sooo, disappointed..The wife and I were there this past weekend 10/06/2025 for our anniversary. Plans to stay from saturday 10/06 to Saturday 10/11 . The Mrs planned the trip for us and was soo excited to go... We read the reviews and looked at the pictures and everything seemed to be nice and checked the box for a nice hawaiian vacation. We also reviewed their website and reviews, and thought that we were making the best decision for our money.. There was no where mentioned on their website that there was going to be any construction / remodeling during the week of our stay. we arrived Saturday and upon arrival, check-in was okay... I personally thought the lady was a lil unfriendly, but my wife gave her the benefit of the doubt, chalking it up of her having a long day... it was after 5 pm in that evening. But still for the money we paid you would at least expect a smile. Went to the room, it was clean, and had a decent partial view of the ocean... The pool area was small (which knew from review the pics before hand) and really no one was hanging out there. The next morning went to have breakfast in the restaurant... where you are led to believe that it was a $35/person buffet.. They seated us and pointed us to the buffet table... If it wasn't for another couple sitting at the table across from us, that asked for an menu, we would have never known that there were other choices for breakfast. I made a mental note that the waitress that eventually came over to ask us what we wanted to drink, didn't even say good morning... So we asked her for a menu, could never figure out why it took 10 to 15 minutes for a menu... It wasn't like she was busy, it was only including us, 2 other tables for her to wait on.. but I digress.. Breakfast wasn't bad, The food runner came over and brought us some of his favorite sauces/syrups which we appreciated.. we don't know what happened to our waitress.. we didn't see or hear from her until she brought over our check... Monday morning, got up to go to the gym before breakfast.. Walked thru the beautiful lobby... So we said, after breakfast, this would be a good place to come back to and take some pictures, to post and send to our family.. On the way to breakfast, walked past several men in hard hats standing around the lobby... We ate breakfast and got up to go to the lobby to take pictures and every piece of furniture and pictures was now gone... They had a ply wood wall up and putting up more plywood. Ok, cool we just go and sit at the pool, chill and take pictures. Mind you it is about 8:30 am.. Put on the sun tan lotion. picked a nice spot by the pool... Looked over and saw someone had put up a portable shade tent. That's interesting I told my wife... About 15 min later, here comes a group of guys in shorts carrying these big power tools... And started jack hammering the concrete around the pool, under the tent. Mind you, the pool area is not that big, so there was no where to go to avoid the loud obnoxious noise.. Now the realization has set in... This is not going to be a good relaxing anniversary vacation. so, I went to go speak to management to see if there is anything they can do for our inconvenience, and asked how long is the pool jack hammering is going to go on... He told me for the next several weeks and there was nothing he really could do for us... This has been a completely disappointing stay, a complete waist of hard earn money and time. My wife is just devasted.. she is apologizing to me and I am trying to left her spirits.. We had to call it short and cut our loses.. Couldn't see spending any more on resort fees and food on that resort/hotel.. So we packed our stuff and was able to book a flight out that Tuesday evening 10/07/2025. Outrigger should be completely ashamed of themselves.. There is no words to describe my feeling right now... If I could give this hotel a negative 500 score I would...

My wife and I stayed 9/16 - 10/2 and had a great time. The hotel is clean and maintained well. Excellent and friendly staff. Elsa was our housekeeper. She remembered our names and made sure to say hello everyday. She did a great job. If we go back, we would definitely stay again.
