"Nice grounds, unbearable pool pump noise"

This is our 4th year here, we really like this place BUT the large pool pump by building 3 has been getting louder each year. The bearings are clearly shot and need to be replaced. The noise is now unbearable and can be heard throughout the main pool area and within the rooms. I measured it at 80 dB. If the bearings cost too much to replace, at least enclose the pool utility shack. Maybe management has just become used to the noise and doesn’t realize it sounds like a freeway. Nice grounds, unbearable noise. This will be our last time here.

"Filthy beach, alarms woke us at 530am, extremely poor customer service, newly renovated room."

The hotel has a large construction site and portable potties at the main entrance. The room was very nice but we were awoken three different times by alarms starting at 535am. Upon checkout I mentioned it to the woman at the makeshift checkout desk and how we were assured our room wasn’t near the construction site and it turned out to be right outside. She literally had nothing to say, not even an apology. I have two stars for the room which has apparently been recently renovated but I feel this is a dishonest business and I won’t be returning. Luckily it was only one night. Also the beach here is filthy.

The renovations did not impact my stay all that much. In fact, my 3 year old son had a great time running up and down the halls and taking all the elevator rides we had to take every time we left our room. The pool was great, minus the closed hot tub. The major disappointment was that the people in the room next to us were smoking cigarettes on their balcony all day and night for most of our stay. We called front desk and security 10 times about this and nothing was ever done. So we had cigarette smoke wafting into our room constantly with our toddler in there. If you advertise as a "non smoking resort, you should actually enforce those rules. It really ruined our experience for several days.
