Booked this place for my 17 year old daughter, her friend, and myself while in town to see the Hozier concert. LOTS to unpack here: 1) Signage isn't easy to spot - clearly, the chain bought an older hotel, as the original sign is still up (but painted over) and the Howard Johnson by Wyndham banner is displayed WAY underneath it. We drove past it a few times before we finally saw the sign. Not really a huge deal, but just be aware that their sign isn't easy to see right away. 2. There isn't an elevator, and this isn't mentioned in the listing. The stairwells are really dirty (both the carpet and walls). It reminded me of a stereotypical dirty motel. 3. The hallways have limited lighting and have a dark, dank appeal. The hallways also smelled BAD - like wet dog and ammonia. We were pretty hesitant on proceeding at this point, but we kept on. 4. The rooms themselves weren't too bad. They were updated rooms, nicely decorated, and were pretty spacious. No bad smells, plenty of towels and wash cloths, and the bathrooms were clean. Water pressure in the shower was great as well. No issues there. We didn't use the pools or the free breakfast, so I don't have any experiences to comment on there. 5. The only issue I had with the rooms was that I had asked for adjoining rooms (since I had 2 teenage girls with me, I preferred this for safety reasons). I booked online 2 weeks prior, made the request for the adjoining rooms, then called the hotel directly and they confirmed it could be done. Did not realize we were not in adjoining rooms until we walked in. After doing some investigating online, turns out they do not have these types of rooms, period. 6. Back to the dark hallways - we returned from the concert at about 2 AM, and it made me very nervous to walk through this place in the middle of the night. It would have been great to have had more lights. But wait, there's more ... 7. Security - lobby closes promptly at 11, and there is NO one on-site after this time. Also, all the exterior doors have keypads, yet they're not properly closed. We entered through 3 different doors during our stay, and we didn't have to use the keypad to enter on a single one. This just compounds my concern about the dark hallways, because it appears that anyone could just walk in. Because of this, I had the girls share my room so I knew they were safe. 8. I booked our rooms on booking.com and was given a rate of $121 (included taxes and fees). We've stayed at Wyndham resorts in the past and always had a great experience, so I figured since their name was attached to this hotel, it would be a good place. I chose to pay once we checked in, just in case the concert got rescheduled again. Anyway, after we checked in and got settled, I logged into my bank account and noticed they'd deducted around $80 from my account instead of the $121. I knew this wasn't right, but figured I'd ask the next day (today) when we checked out. Fast forward to about 9 pm, I get a call from a woman at the hotel, saying, "I need you to come to the lobby immediately to settle your balance." We were at the concert, and told her I couldn't because we were out, and asked if there was a problem. Apparently, the full charge didn't pay out, and I needed to pay the rest. Immediately, apparently. I asked her to hold on while I checked my bank balance. Idk what happened, but there was plenty of money to cover the charge. I explained that to her and asked if she could try it again. I then asked what the 2nd charge would be, and she said $103. I told her booking.com had given me a price of $121, not $180. At this point, the music was very loud and was hard to communicate with her, but she started to insinuate that I had insufficient funds, when in fact I did not. She was extremely rude from the second I answered her call. Eventually, she hung up on me. About 20 minutes later, I logged into my account and saw the $103 was deducted from my account. This happened last night, and I'm in the process of trying to get some of that money back, or finding someone who will explain why I was charged $60 more for my booking. In conclusion, we won't be back. Why didn't we leave and find someplace else? Because it's Branson in July (IYKYK), we were on a tight schedule and we were only staying 1 night. Otherwise, we'd have left the second we saw the stairwell. The only reason I give this place a 2/5 is because the rooms were pretty good. But the lack of attention to safety, as well as the over-charge and rudeness of the staff member, are very hard to ignore.

"Nasty….run!"

The first room I booked had a mattress that looked very old. It literally had waves in it. The bathroom door looked like someone urinated on it. The rug was torn and the vanity had so much dust on it. You could tell it hadn’t been cleaned in days. I requested another room due to the bed. The second room had a smell like vomit. The bed was better, until I sat at the table next to the bed. I glanced over and seen an old menstrual blood stain on the exposed mattress. I immediately checked out. This hotel is nasty. Believe the reviews. I’m one that will give a hotel a chance, because some people like to complain. Well, believe me when I tell you to run!

We didn’t have a single problem here. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The room was great, and we slept well. The only thing I can say negative is that the tub is older but shower head was fantastic. We will definitely be back every time we have a night away in Branson.

Horrible hotel experience here how is this even a Howard Johnson or a Wyndham this place is disturbing and they will book you room next to room with the only person that services the rooms having COVID. Unsure why with 131 rooms they would book like this and put people at risk. Howard Johnson that's a laugh Wyndham should give double points any night you stay here!! Heck even a free three day at one of their nicer resorts if you happen to stay here and be a part of Wyndham. 😂 Hard to believe people can make money like this one more hotel in Branson that should be shut down.

We have come to branson 6 years in a row and stayed here for the 1st time. It is horrible! The shower was covered in soap scum. One morning the o.j. machine was water. They had waffle makers but thry were out of syrup. There is no one at the front desk at 11:00 p.m. to get towels. There was a note to call their number. Every morning 3 guys were loitering and speaking another language besides english on the steps by our room. We could hear them talking every morning. If I left my room they made me feel very uncomfortable. The pillows are flat. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!! Stay away!
