Where to start…. First off, thanks to the few employees who tried to help during my trip . It was appreciated. So, first off, we check in as a group of 4 on a golf trip. We were given a room on the 3rd and 4th floor. We get there and find the elevator is out! We end up lugging our golf bags and luggage up 3 flights of stairs. One member hurts his back during this fiasco and can’t play golf! I contact the front desk and they answer immediately saying they’ll get back in touch to see what they can do to resolve this issue. This went on for 2 days. Finally , by the 3rd day when I get someone live, they offer to move us. Who the hell wants to bother with that now? For the inconvenience, they credit me back the hotel resort fee for the 2 days, not even for the whole stay! Next, we spend the 3rd night in constant contact with security. Turns out a HS soccer team is staying directly above us and decided to hold a scrimmage for roughly 6 hours in the rooms they were in . This went on until 1am Sunday Morning!!! Again, Security attempted to intervene but there were no adults with the kids , so evertime they were told to stop, they waited till Security left and then continued playing tackle football in their rooms! For that nightmare, I was given a free poolside cabana when I went to purchase it the next day. Of course, they ended up charging me for half of it and I couldn’t get the credit back for 2days. The manager on duty the next day refused to reach out to the manager who gave me the Cabana since it was her day off. Instead , she gave me her Business card and said she’d call me the next day. No such call ever came which wasn’t surprising considering the attitude this woman gave me . But I guess her never making eye contact with me when I spoke to her should’ve been my first clue. Finally, an hour after leaving the Cabana, I realized I left 2 brand new IPhone 17 chargers plugged in there. When I went back to retrieve them an hour later, they were gone. When I asked the only pool attendant still there working, I was told to fill out a report at the main office check in. RIDICULOUS! Apparently they don’t hold anything there at the pool. It goes to Security, which then transports the property to an off premises location. WHAT??? And I couldn’t go there to try to get my property back. No, I must fill out the report so they can have adequate time to look for the property. Needless to say, as I write this I’ve received 2 emails saying they’re still looking for my chargers, 3 weeks after I left this mess of a hotel!!! Do yourselves a favor. Take a pass on this place. There are too many other great alternatives. PS- we played their golf course. What a dump. $140 for burnt out greens ugly looking holes with no rough, only burnt grass and waste areas. We couldn’t wait to leave!!!

"Beautiful resort with several pools and great staff."

After 16 years of spending Christmas and New Year's in Orlando, we had planned to spend the last Christmas holidays at home in Germany. But my 17-year-old son's longtime friends in the USA asked him via video to come back to Orlando again this year. Since I had a very good rate for the 16-day Christmas break at the Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes Orlando for a 3-bedroom Apartment Plus, we decided to spend Christmas in Orlando again. Especially since we had already spent a few days there in the spring in a 2-bedroom apartment and had enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, four very nice employees had left the resort in the meantime, which we found very disappointing. But the remaining staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were fortunate enough to get another apartment on the upper floor at the end of the corridor in the second tall building next to the lobby. We had a main entrance into a small private vestibule and from there two entrance doors to our two apartments. The apartment on the right had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, no balcony, but with a washer and dryer and everything fully furnished. The left-hand apartment had two bedrooms, one overlooking the Disney parks, where you could watch the fireworks at various times in the evening. It also had a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, a bathroom with a bathtub, shower, toilet, and a second bathroom with a shower, whirlpool, sink, and separate toilet. There was also a large balcony accessible from both the living room and the bedroom. Initially, we were able to use the balcony for a few days, but after that, we had daily problems with smokers, alternating between different floors, so we could no longer sit outside. Unfortunately, there are always some idiots who simply don't follow the rules and ruin other guests' vacations. The security team and guest services staff did their best, speaking with various guests and issuing fines. Thank you for your efforts, which isn't always the case in resorts with many timeshare owners. We've had much worse experiences in 15 years at the Hilton Grand Vacation SeaWorld, with well over 500 overnight stays. Whereas management and security always turned a blind eye to timeshare owners, even when chain smokers were smoking in their apartments, things were really different here at HVC Mystic Dunes. It was like a curse; one smoker would disappear, and another would appear. But we didn't let it spoil our vacation. All the team members were really nice and very helpful. There was a mini-golf course, table tennis, tennis, and basketball courts, all free to use. You could also rent bicycles, and there was an activity center with TVs and game consoles. The resort also has a golf course with a driving range, golf carts, and a clubhouse. There were also many events at the main pool and in the activity center. Unfortunately, there wasn't much going on in the evenings. A New Year's Eve party would have been nice, perhaps an idea for the future. A small supermarket and one or two restaurants would also have been good, as the resort was a few kilometers from the nearest shops. This time we rented a car from Avis for 18 days for just over 700 euros, but that only made sense because the apartments were quite affordable. For the past 18 years, we've always stayed near SeaWorld, from where we either took the trolley, the Lynx bus, or simply walked. Thanks again to the whole team, you were all fantastic! In the future, however, we'll only book apartment complexes without balconies to avoid any trouble with smokers.

This is a great option when taking a Disney trip. I have never stayed on the resort at Disney so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the price is right especially for big families. The waterslide is so fun at the resort and the kids enjoyed mini golf as well. 11 years ago we got married at the same location. The quality has not changed, and actually it has improved now that it is Hilton owned.

First of all, I have to say that there wasn’t one glaring moment of poor customer service, or filthy areas of the room. With that said, however, this is not a place we would ever choose again. We’ve been visiting Orlando for many years, so perhaps it’s because we have many experiences to compare it to, but this stay missed the mark for us in many ways: Usually, we don’t feel the need to rent a car because our resort is designed for easy navigation to activities, restaurants, entertainment….even other buildings within the resort. Here, we needed a shuttle just to get from our building to the ONE restaurant on the property. Said shuttle didn’t always show up, and had to be called a couple of times. We broke down and rented a car because this place is so spread out, so far from shopping and dining, parks, etc, that we knew we couldn’t just rely on Uber or Lyft the whole time. Heck, we were there for a soccer tournament, and we had to drive our daughter the other buildings to see her teammates. Also, any other place we’ve stayed in Orlando has so much going on. It’s lively, has entertainment, activities, restaurants, ice cream, etc. There’s just nothing going on here. NO HOT TUBS! Yes, the pools are heated, but when it’s January in FL, temps can get chilly. We had a day that was pleasantly in the 70’s during the day, but got very cold when the sun went down. This HUGE place has ZERO hot runs! How do you call yourself a higher end resort and have no hot tubs! Other smaller details that should be addressed…it’s very dark everywhere once the sun goes down. We wanted to have a team dinner around one of the grill areas, but we had to move it to one of the guest rooms because the grill area had no lighting at all. And, there was no way we were letting our teenage girl walk from our building to any other building once the sun was down. It was pitch black everywhere! Lighting of most paths and common areas would be such a great improvement. Also, make note that there is NO shuttle to parks anymore. Another little detail is that the water smelled strongly of that Florida water smell (our shower and washing machine smelled like eau du Pirates of the Carribbean). Overall, I don’t want to trash on this resort. The customer service was fine, our room was clean, but there’s nothing going on. Would NOT recommend for park-goers, young families, or groups that want a lot going on, with amenities that are abundant and easy to get to. BOTTOM LINE: If you’re a senior, a golfer, or someone who wants the retirement community vibe, this will be perfect, as long as you have a car. Will not stay here again because it did not match our needs/wants.
