I've actually made a reservation and did a AAA pre pay Save rate for $800 for this coming weekend. I checked the rate is is now $678 for the same room and dates. I called both Hilton Reservations and the hotel directly, but neither will match their own reduced rate. This is leaving me with a very poor opinion of the policies of the Hilton brand of hotels, and I'm hoping for resolution before I arrive.

Michelle was great and had good customer service. She made sure that I understood all the goodies that the hotel offered. She explained everything pertaining to my check in and out perfectly. Positives: Location. I loved how close the hotel was to various subway lines and to Times Square and the theaters I was going to. I also felt safe at this hotel. Negatives: The front desk of the hotel seemed incredibly short staffed. When I checked in, the woman at the desk was very short with me but did make a point to tell me not to hesitate if there were any problems. When I walked into my room there was a very strong bleach smell. Ignoring it, I took a shower and then decided to lie on the bed until I needed to head out. I pulled back the sheets and found a large wet spot on the sheets. I tried calling the front desk, housekeeping and guest services multiple times but no one answered. I went down to the front desk to report it and the woman there called someone and said loudly and sarcastically to the person on the other end of the phone, "She claims there is a wet spot on the bed." I went back up to my room and found someone already in the room checking out the spot. They determined that housekeeping had cleaned a part of the mattress with bleach and had put the sheets on the bed without letting the mattress dry. He told me to pack up my belongs and he would try to find me a new room. He returned a few minutes later, was very apologetic and showed me to my new room. I wish I had gotten his name because I would like to thank him for acknowledging there was a problem and fixing it so quickly. I am curious as to why they were pushing eating at Planet Hollywood, one of their neighbors. They gave me a $10 off coupon for every day I was there. The bed was very hard so if you like a hard bed, this is a hotel for you. Smells from other rooms could be smelt in my room so when They sprayed cologne my room smelled like it and when they were smoking pot, my room smelled of it too. Yuck.

I just got back from a work trip to NYC and I have to say we had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, NYC. The check in was smooth and courteous and got us to our room is record time. We were a little frazzled after coming from NJ via train and the check in could not have gone smoother. Ty to two of the nicest door men and concierge in NYC made our stay even more enjoyable.
