"Expensive disappointment?"

I spend 100+ nights per year in all levels of hotels and maintain diamond status. We're middle aged, not high maintenance, travel to Gatlinburg a couple times each year. Additionally due to my industry/company, I was required to travel during the entire COVID nightmare. I totally understand the challenges and changes the pandemic brought to hotels and have a great deal of respect for the hospitality industry as a whole. However negative, my experience & review is honest. Check-in; lady with the Jamaican accent was not friendly; provided no information about the property (except breakfast) nor did she recognize my diamond status until I forced the topic. She assumed I had a car which I did not. I told her I didn't need a parking hang tag and she took attitude thinking I meant I wouldn't pay for parking.. The $15.00 per night for parking is nothing more than a scam! The hotel is at least a half a mile from town with tons of parking spaces. The public lots in town are $10.00 to $20.00... Room was minimally furnished. Very dark to where it's impossible to get any work done. Bed bouncy and loud; pillows all too small for a king size bed and lumpy. Week TV reception to where channels would drop out. In my 8 days I only needed/asked for the room to be turned down twice and neither time was the floor cleaned or bathroom cleaned. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn, very basic with nothing interesting or local. Check-out; two people at front desk and no one would acknowledge me. I waited 30 seconds and finally said can someone check me out. I was asked for my room number and absolutely nothing else was said to me or any eye contact made. At $190.00 per night, not a good value or at the Hampton Inn standard that I know and expect. Experiences like this make me question my Hilton brand loyalty.

"Worst Breakfast Ever at a Hampton Inn"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed October 21, 2025
Stayed two nights - Oct 15 to 17. Breakfast the first morning ran out of yogurt; employee said no more available until truck runs in a day or so. Ran out of boiled eggs as well. Second morning, ran out of premade cheese omelets and cut potatoes, employee said it would be awhile until more were available. When we left the breakfast area 20 minutes later- still no omelets or potatoes. Selection of pastries/bread was limited to only 3 or 4 items. Ran out of bananas by 7:30 am. If staying because breakfast is included, I would suggest staying elsewhere.

"Skip this one if you want to relax!"

The positives: Hotel is very clean. Pet friendly. The negatives: Rooms are small. When booking, there should be a specific option to select a balcony overlooking the creek. Skip this hotel if you plan on relaxing. The walls are thin and I have heard nothing but knocking and banging, screaming kids, and slamming doors for the past two days. Want to relax by the fire pit at night? Not a chance with the screaming kids in the hot tub behind you. Want to relax on the balcony at night? Not a chance with the outside Disney movie blaring at Embassy Suites next door until after 10pm. Parking spots are tight and you have to pay for parking.

"Beware of hidden "Self" parking fee (no where else to park your car except at the hotel"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed October 04, 2025
The hotel was a nice, decent stay. Nothing exceptional, but not bad either. The "self parking" fee of $15 was shown as an "Optional Charge" on the Hilton.com website and was not shown in Expedia's website as a charge at all. This fee was not known until we checked out (not mentioned when we checked in either). Charging a fee for parking your car is ridiculous. Where else would you park your car? If you need the revenue, add it to your room rates!!! I feel like this is a way to fleece your guest in an underhanded way with NO transparent communication of the charges ($75 for five nights which was almost 25% of the total for the five nights). I've never paid for SELF parking anywhere at a hotel that I've stayed at. I will NOT be back to this hotel.T his is a black eye on the HILTON brand and I am a Hilton member.

"Close to Downtown and Nature"

This hotel is a half a mile from downtown and offers a free breakfast. It is also a short drive to several trail heads and nature. There were several bear sightings in the parking lot while we were there. The staff (sorry I didn't get their names) were a big help in suggestions to restaurants and attraction. They also helped us determine which trails to do and made our stay better. our room and the hot tub were great reliefs after the day hiking and visiting the sights.
