Griffin Hotel, an official Colonial Williamsburg Hotel in Williamsburg, VA

Great hotel on walking distance from the old town. When you want to feel like you live in the past stay in this hotel. Friendly staff and a lot to do. Expensive but worth the experience

Such an amazing and relaxing experience! Best kept secret. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The furniture and decor has old world charm. The bed was amazingly comfortable. I really enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with the sounds of nature all around.

The place was beautiful. The people were so helpful . The Room was so clean. Loved every aspect. Our family of 5 plus a small fur baby had plenty of room in the Queen Deluxe room. I didn’t want to leave. We will be back.

Family of 4 vacation. Arrived 4 pm - check in was at the Williamsburg Inn office. Check in was professional and time was spent explaining the layout of the resort property ( the Inn shared it's amenities with the Griffin Hotel). Map was given and parking pointed out. Parking was free and just steps away from our room entrance (and shaded). Griffin is nestled away in a wooded corner of the resort area. The walking paths from Griffin to the Inn or to the Spa/pool areas were nice. Properties were maintained and clean. Although our room didn't have a great view, it certainly was not loud/noisy. Room was very large. 2 queens and a pull out sleeper sofa. Furniture was definitely vintage, possibly antique. Carpets smelled musty, possibly because it had rained almost every day. Lights were not LED, but probably best to not see how much work needed (deep shampooing, painting, washing of walls, doors, fixtures). Great care and attention whenever you had questions. The service by all staff ( direct and indirect) was noticed. It was nice to leave the car and walk to the various attractions within colonial Williamsburg. I think we averaged 5 miles/day. The heat and humidity was crazy awful. I don't recommend visiting in July or August. I would come back in April. The pool was clean and amenities perfect. Spa was pricey. The gym was very nice. Had lunch at the pool: hot dogs, burger, Caesar wrap, and iced drinks. Perfect for lunch. Showered at the gym after the pool. Very nice and refreshing. They keep a lavender eucalyptus spray in the shower for your relaxation experience. Nice touch. Terrace room breakfasts were excellent. Service was the best I've experienced. The manager was always onsite and ensuring everything ran smooth. She was exceptional and kept track of staff and guests ( thank you). Prices were reasonable for the food quality and service. Day before we left we had to call front desk to plunge the toilet, almost flooded the place. They came quickly and took care of it. It was a bit of an inconvenience. The towels were fluffy and soaps and sample shampoos were nice. Thought went into the little things like this. Hotels had umbrellas for everyone in case it rained. Not sure if I mentioned that colonial Williamsburg was just a walk away. One of our days we drove to Busch gardens ( 11 mins). We decided against going back to Busch gardens the following day, we were enjoying our time at the spa/pool and colonial Williamsburg more!

We love the Griffen. We tend to go every 6 months and stay there. We find it’s close to everything walking preferred for me, but on the bus line. It’s quiet in a woodland area. The only downfall this time around is we were unable to get WiFi…but won’t stop us from going back.
