Gatlinburg has been a favorite of ours for 40 years, but it has changed so much and is more touristy now than years ago when they had special shops along the street and when Howards was on the main part of town,,brass lantern, and other places we enjoyed. The atmosphere is not as magical cause you have to fight so many people and traffic is horrendous. But we keep coming back for good food,,the village and donut friar ,,and pancake pantry and log cabin. Why...I dont know. Biggest complaint of course is the traffic but more than that is the Parking Fees Now 20.00.. If you want a fannie farkles---pay ten for the farkle and 20 for the parking. If you want pancakes, pay the price for pancakes or donuts or walk the village and pay the 20.00.. Sometimes really not worth it any more. Someone is making a killing ripping people off. The city should do something about it,,but their hand is in the pie I am sure. Not as clean as it used to be either and at night--pretty sketchy.--we dont go.. Traffic so bad between westgate and gatlinburg sat,,it took for ever to get there and absolutely no parking so we went back to pigeon forge. Should have taken the trolley.. It is stupid there now, crazy stupid and the City could help a little more to help tourists instead of looking at each tourist as a 20.00 bill...You are taking advantage of your own popularity... Used to love the place,,but not sure we want to come back at our age ...in the future..Sorry Someone needed this lecture---

The staff is nice but I can’t say the same thing about the rooms. Once my family and I got here, there was stink bugs everywhere, one on the ceiling, behind the chair, and the wall. I am unsatisfied with my experience. Barely any light. Very old and rusty. This is not what I really wanted. I am disappointed, especially when this is my first time in Gatlinburg. The bathroom and the kitchen (the kitchen was a little modern) were very modern, but the rest of the stuff was just old furniture. I do not recommend this hotel for you or your kids. Maybe 414 would’ve been better. Do not come here if you don’t want any of this to happen to you.

Booked a good deal on a resort Hotel. Well, it is setup like a motel and I don't prefer motels. Check in is up the hill at another location and went very smoothly considering we were there around midnight. The property needs some tlc as the stairs, elevators, and halls need repairs and a good cleaning. Getting to the room I was surprised it was as nice as it was after the walk to it. The room was large and clean a little older but clean. The only problems with the room ws the dishwasher still had water in the bottom and the checkout rules where we had to empty all trash and wash the dishes. Odd but ok. Our room was situated so when we woke up we could see the waterfall from our bed and we wished it would run all night as the sound was relaxing. I undestand the quiet time being why the falls are shut off. The pool was ok and the Hot Tub wasn't much bigger than the one in the room so we used the room tub. We didn't use any of the other ammenities but it was nice they were there. We would use this in the future but next time we plan on bringing our husky and no pets are allowed.

Great place to be within walking distance to Gatlinburg(only negative is up a hill if walking is difficult) . Rooms were comfortable and we could watch bears from our balcony which was awesome. Have stayed there twice before and will stay at this location again.
