Guests will be five minutes' drive from historic Old Town Key West and two miles from Duval Street. A flat-screen cable TV, microwave, and small refrigerator are featured in all rooms. Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Key West rooms are decorated in vibrant colors and include coffee-making facilities. Select rooms have private balconies. Guests can relax on the large sun terrace beside the pool or use cardio equipment and free-weights in the fitness center. A concierge service as well as on-site scooter and bicycle hire are offered as well. The poolside tiki bar offers frozen drinks, cocktails, and light snacks.

Smathers Beach is within two miles from the property. Guests will also be two miles from Key West Airport and Fort Zachary Taylor State Park.

My wife and I stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites Key West in August 2025. All of the bad reviews we read before arriving were WRONG! The rooms were clean and modern with a fridge and microwave. The swimming pool was clean and nice, The staff were helpful. There was a shuttle to take you downtown leaving every hour.

Lovely hotel, nice size rooms and comfortable. Greeted very warmly by the reception team and very helpful. Kids loved the pool especially with it being open until 10am. Unfortunately our whole experience was shattered when we entered the breakfast room. The staff, especially the Asian lady was so rude, huffing and puffing and viciously tidying up and cleaning after people (her job!) we received no greeting or introduction to the breakfast. Once finished, we walked out as you do and she chased after us and started yelling at us to clear away our table. We were not aware we had to do this, as I said we had no greeting or no explanation of this. Her anger upset my kids and they were very frightened. She is not a great representation of your brand. If you can’t be hospitable don’t work in hospitality. Such a shame she spoilt it for the rest of the staff who were very pleasant. Great free shuttle service too.

Front desk workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was absolutely filthy. We slept and left as quickly as possible. Noise levels at night were unacceptable, AC unit sounded like a Peterbilt at full RPM. Overall it was long, but short nights sleep, oh and don't mention the bill which was eye watering.

My wife booked three rooms for a family trip, trusting the Marriott brand for its usual consistency and quality. We travel frequently and almost exclusively stay at Marriott properties. Unfortunately, this location fell significantly below expectations. The Positives: Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well stocked, well staffed, and overall very good. Pool water was clean, with plenty of towels available. Staff provided good local recommendations for activities and excursions. The Negatives: This is clearly an older property that appears to have undergone only a minimal cosmetic update. The overall maintenance and cleanliness were poor, across all three rooms we reserved: Room conditions: Doors had visible dark fingerprints Very loud AC units that failed to cool rooms properly Stained or dirty bedding on arrival (to their credit, staff replaced it in two rooms) Mildew and peeling paint near showers Chipped paint on interior trim Loose or broken safety latches Non-functional electrical outlets Poor lighting Common areas: Dirty hallways and window ledges Pool area: Missing tiles, cracked and gapped pool decking Tree pods constantly covering the deck—clearly staff were trying, but it’s a tough task Shuttle service: One vehicle had barely functioning AC; the other had no working AC at all This is not the standard we associate with the Marriott name. The rooms need a thorough deep cleaning and a proper renovation—not just a surface touch-up. Also worth noting: the property is motel-style, meaning exterior access to rooms. While I didn't encounter any safety issues, it's something guests may want to consider. On a lighter note, three of our grandkids under 11 had plenty of hilarious commentary about the condition of the place—and were overjoyed when we arrived at our next stop, another Marriott property in Orlando that was excellent in every way. I debated posting this review, as it’s the first negative experience I’ve had with Marriott. But given the condition of the property and what we paid, I felt it was important to share. I also submitted similar feedback directly to Marriott. This hotel was full during our stay, so perhaps I’m being too picky—but in my view, this location simply does not reflect the Marriott standard. I’m leaving 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1- safety. My friend called to add her name to our reservation and they didn’t ask her any questions to verify she was actually with us. They gave her a room key and the only question she was asked was who’s name the room was under. You know how unsafe that is?? If a man knew we were staying there all they had to do was say my name and he gets a room key?????? Terrible. Second- idk her name but whoever was at the front desk was super rude on the phone and hung up on me for no reason. Price point is good, the front desk ppl were nice (one of them wasn’t) rooms were fine. Location was good!
