"Tired…"

Convenient for the airport but that’s about all it’s got going for it. The courtyard area is scruffy and the rooms, whilst clean, need a refresh. Items in the kitchenette looked like they dated from the 80s. The lobby/restaurant was the most modern area, but still pretty basic.

I had an outstanding experience at the Double Tree Hotel, starting right at check-in with Jerica, who was an absolute gem. She has this amazing personality that instantly makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Jerica noticed I usually don’t travel alone and went out of her way to explain everything, including my food and drink credits, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Then, over at the restaurant/bar, Anthony as my waiter took it to the next level. From the jump, he was super personable with a huge smile that made me feel right at home. I tried to order some chips, but he smartly pointed out that the special tacos already come with chips and salsa—saving me money right off the bat! As a California guy with high standards for tacos, I let him know, and we shared a laugh (both being brown, him maybe a bit more so). He assured me they’d be great, hinting at the Hispanic cooks in the kitchen, and man, he was spot on—the food was amazing! Service was on point, so I hooked him up with a $20 tip, and we even shook hands at the end. As I was writing the review, Fryda arrived to check my water level. She was amazing too. Continued to make sure I was well hydrated and it wasn’t just me; she took care of everyone. As the CEO of a medium-sized armed security firm, I travel a ton and have high expectations. To put this in perspective, I recently stayed in a $5,000 suite on the island of Curaçao, and the service here matched that level. Great staff, great vibes—highly recommend! 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🇺🇸

"Pleasantly surprised"

Stayed at this DoubleTree twice during a recent trip to Arizona. For the first night's stay, there were 2 of us & there was a mixup regarding the airport shuttle pick up that I was afraid was an indication of a poor choice on my part. However, they provided a nice "compensation" for the problem. The second night I was alone. The rooms were well appointed, clean & opened to the lovely outdoor court yard. Staff was very pleasant & professional. The recently addition of the breakfast buffet in the Brix Kitchen Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The evening meals were excellent as well. Highly recommend the Phoenix Street Tacos with mahi & the house bread pudding. Anthony served me & my friend the first evening & served me when I returned 2 weeks later. Such a professional with a great, dry, sense of humor.

Had a dinner and was serviced by Anthony. Man was a consummate professional with charming and subtle service. Burger and Tacos made to exact specifications and were absolutely delicious. All that and I didnt even need to leave my hotel lobby! Good job and service, ladies and gentlemen 🫡
