"Great hotel basic breakfast and poor housekeeping"

Stayed here for 6 ays. Check in and out was smooth. They took a $50 refundable deposit at check in and informed me it will be refunded after checkout. Room size was perfect with a good size tv and a coffee machine as well as an AC which came in handy in this hot weather. The housekeeping was really below average. During our 6 day stay there our room was done up only twice and cleaned only once. This after me requesting them to clean it at least once every two days. We had to go down and throw garbage in the outside bins as no one picked it up. Also breakfast was included but it’s very very basic. The area where it’s served can be described as tiny for a hotel which is normally always sold out. This the crowd there every morning is crazy with people creating nuisance there. They use disposable plates and spoons which causes extra garbage which isn’t good. For a hotel which charges a decent rate and is sold out mostly, I am disappointed by the housekeeping as well as the basic breakfast. Location is great and like someone has said, the NJ transit bus 320 leaves from the front of the hotel and gets you near Times Square in around 20 mins for around $4.95 per person. Area around the hotel is full of restaurants and thus a great evening is possible.

"Decent Room,but Poor Service and Rigid Policies to make a disappointing experience"

I stayed at this Best Western Plus Meadowlands at 250 Harmon Mesdow during a recent trip to New York and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing in several key areas. Upon arrival at 11 a.m., I was told there were absolutely no exceptions for early check-in and that I had to wait until 3 p.m. The same rigid policy applied to late check-out — my request for a 1 p.m. departure was also denied, not even 30 minutes granted. Claudia at the front desk handled both interactions and was neither friendly nor helpful. To be blunt, customer service like this needs improvement. If being a Best Western Rewards member offers no flexibility or recognition, it raises the question of what the benefit really is. The breakfast setup was equally frustrating. The coffee and juice machines looked impressive with options like coffee, apple, lemonade, orange juice, and passion fruit, but most were out of order or empty. The food selection was poor — scrambled eggs with a strange taste, bacon, and bagels without cream cheese since they ran out. With coffee and other items unavailable, it felt like almost everything was “out of order.” The space itself is cramped, with guests waiting up to 30 minutes just to use the waffle machine. Overall, it’s not an enjoyable breakfast experience. The location is another factor to consider. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Times Square, and it costs roughly $10 USD round trip each time you travel into Manhattan. Depending on how often you go, it may be more cost-effective and time-efficient to stay directly in the city instead of commuting from New Jersey. On the positive side, the hotel room itself was fairly modern and comfortable, which is the one redeeming quality of the stay. However, the lack of flexibility, poor breakfast, unhelpful service, and distance from main attractions make it hard to recommend. I came for a sports-themed trip to see the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants game and was lucky to also catch the Blue Jays vs. Yankees Game 4 — both great experiences. Unfortunately, the hotel stay did not match the excitement of the trip

Great hotel. Convenient to NY city. There is a bus stop across the street to take you into Midtown. Staff is very helpful. Very clean and safe.

I had a great experience with the Meadowlands BW. I got a warm, friendly greeting from the front desk, with a smooth check-in. The room was very clean and I made use of the desk space while there for some light work. The breakfast was great, and I always am excited to see the waffle iron, which this location had. Bacon and eggs were also available and everything was adequately stocked during my stay. There was also a good selection of casual restaurants and take-out food available. I will definitely visit this BW again when I'm in the area.
