"Excellent service, clean and reliable"

I have stayed here a few times. They have excellent service and the staff makes a lot of effort to keep everything running well. The rooms are clean and well supplied. There is a microwave in every room, freezers in the refrigerators. Their breakfast has generous hours and is kept refreshed. I prefer this hotel to the one next door because they are friendlier and have those details that hello when roadtripping. It's also very convenient to downtown and everything else you need in Asheville.

I love this place! This was my third stay and has been consistently good. The staff is friendly and always available at the front desk. The rooms are clean and everything works. The breakfast buffet is very nice and even has fresh hot oatmeal. I typically travel with lots of valuables (bicycles) and don’t want to haul them into room every night. The parking lot here is well lit and lots of cameras. In my opinion, it's about striking balance between value and quality. This is precisely what this hotel offers. While it may not be a five-star establishment, it provides exceptional accommodations at a reasonable price.

"Wow! Great service!"

We enjoyed our stay. Check-in and check-out were both great. At check-out the desk staff was a blessing as we had accidently left our personal water bottles in our room and turned around to come back and get them. Since the housekeeping staff was not great at understanding English the desk girl ran to get our water bottles for us. We arrived after dark so didn’t see the lovely gazebo until in the morning. We also loved the Smokey the Bear caring outside the main office. The breakfast area was great and the variety of choice very good. The staff working the breakfast area were please and helpful too. The one thing that I would change if I could is an issue we have had with other Best Westerns. The one thing I wish they could fix was make the bathroom light switch inside the bathroom. When someone had to get up in the night and turn on the bathroom light outside by the sink and minor everyone else gets woken up with the bright light. This hotel is super close to getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway too.

"Good and not so good"

I have mixed feelings about my recent stay at this hotel. Overall, it was satisfactory, but there were several issues that affected our experience. Upon check-in, we were mistakenly assigned to a room that was already occupied. I actually opened the door to find other guests inside, which was quite uncomfortable and concerning from a security standpoint. The front desk staff apologized sincerely and quickly reassigned us to a different room. I had requested a first-floor room, but none were available. The bathtub in our room was extremely slippery — my wife nearly fell at one point — so I strongly recommend that the hotel provide bath mats or apply an anti-slip coating for guest safety. We also had an issue with the toilet clogging and had to call the front desk for a plunger one evening. On a positive note, the room itself was very clean and comfortable. However, the exterior of the buildings appeared old and dated, and we were disappointed that there was no elevator to access the second floor. Overall, our stay had both good and bad aspects, but with a few improvements, this hotel could offer a much better guest experience.
