I chose this Best Western for our 2 night Asheville stay using my 3-step hotel routine: desired location, price, & Trip Advisor reviews. Best Western Asheville met the mark on the 1st two requirements, however I think the TA reviews I read overrated this property. The pluses: staff friendly & helpful; breakfast, while not over-the-top, was kept replenished & dining area comfortable; good sized room, good TV & tons of electrical outlets (a must with all of our tech gadgets & 2 CPAP machines!). Nice pool which was still open in early October. Access to indoor pool & gym in hotel next door. Convenient access to freeway & short drive to downtown Asheville. The minuses: the chair & ottoman in our room looked like it was fished out of a garbage heap. The room access was directly from parking lot, which made for some noisy early mornings. The parking spaces were on the small side which did not well accommodate the numerous large pickup trucks. 2 story property does not have elevators. One valuable tip from the front desk staff member who checked us in: if using a ride sharing service, which we did multiple times, check both Uber & Lyft as the prices can vary widely. We doubted him, but his advice was spot-on! I would not count out this property on future Asheville trips, but it is definitely not a go-to on my favorite hotel list.

More WORST Western! Far and away the worst of the chain I've ever stayed in. Unhelpful staff with poor English and need to hide behind a mask £100 holding fee when there is absolutely nothing to run up expenses on is a total rip off! 😡

Room was noisy, carpet were musky smelling as well as dirty. Pillows were uncomfortable. Staff was polite it is just an older hotel that needs a lot of upkeep

We stayed here last week and enjoyed the hotel very much because of the old time motel feeling. We were able to pull right up and park in front of our door and walk over to the breakfast room. The breakfast served was nice decor, a beautiful fireplace and fish tank. There were eggs, bacon, a yogurt machine with fruit and granola, bagels, toast, fruit, good coffee. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The toilet and tub/shower were separate from the sink so 2 people could get ready at the same time. There was also a safe in the room for valuables.
