I was a loyal customer of The Orleans going back to 2002. However, after this trip, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Hotel and casino were empty on a Monday afternoon, but it costs $39 to check in before 4 p.m. Sorry, I refuse to use a kiosk to check in. Coffee shop closes at 3 pm. Steak house does not open until Wednesday. Only restaurants options were pub, Asian food and Oyster Bar. Took ride shares and cabs to other destinations for dinner each night as a result. Went downstairs at 8 a,m to buy local newspaper to read with my morning coffee. Sola out. They only get four newspapers for the entire hotel. Pay a good amount of $$ for resort fee--but outdoor hot tub was being cleaned and the spa is not open Monday through Wednesday, No hot tub for me. No barber shop either, All the amenities are unavailable if you travel during the week. Drink service in the poker room was abysmal. One frazzled young lady serving the entire room, I had to get a chip runner to get me a bottle of water. Sports book employees don't offer you drink tickets after you make your wagers -- you have to ask. An absolute ghost town after 10 pm. Food court prices out of sight. Two slices and a soft drink at Sbarro -- $20..99. One single slice -- $8.98. The Boyd Rewards system has pulled way back on the comps and points. Forget it. I'm done. I'm now a South Point customer.

Wife and I were staying at two different properties on the strip. While waiting to check-in to property 2 we went for a drive. Saw the Orleans and decided to stop in and drop some coin. It’s a Boyd property and I’ve enjoyed the ones in Indiana, Ohio, and Mississippi. Property is dated but one nice thing is they have a good selection of new and older machines. So got to play some of my old favorites. Had a good hour or so visit. Made for a nice side trip.

Stay anywhere else in Vegas, Anywhere we came for 5 nights , left after 2 nights , there is nothing onsight to do , they have no shuttle anywhere , we left our paid room to get away from this dirty boring place our daughter left with lice from this hotel

We were included in an award ceremony held at the Orleans and decided to make a staycation out of it and stay the night. It's off the strip and not in the greatest area, so you have to look past the homeless population outside the property. Contactless checkin at the automated terminal was a plus. Overall the property is older and showing wear. Also unusually warm on the casino floor. The room was dated but reasonably appointed. The real issue was with a mold-like smell in the air. We got to the room late in the evening and we both woke up with eye and throat irritation and a cough. We were hoping to take it easy in the morning and have room service, but ended up leaving at the crack of dawn just to get out of that room. With no discount for locals, it's tough to find value in a $200+ per night stay.

Located about 2 miles off the Las Vegas Vegas strip stands what is a relic to a bygone era. It is large and its location does offer some plus points for the passing traveller, including easy and I believe free or inexpensive parking. The rooms are large but outdated and requiring a much needed overhaul. There was a sitting area and two queen beds which like the rest of the facilities were outdated and in need of replacement - being very ‘springy’. The yellowing bathroom suites are very functional but look old. The broken furniture in my room was poor, but it did accommodate all my clothes. Be aware the hotel charges $39 to check-in at the registration desk with a human, requiring you to use the adjacent self check-in terminals. The pool area is quite expansive and with lots of seating, offering a good place to sit and swim. There is a 50 lane ten-pin bowling alley and a number of fast food outlets. But like everywhere within the hotel, you are a captive market with little else nearby so prices are expensive. ($14 for a basic subway). There a small number of internal restaurants but all have strange operating days and times so check. The American diner, was, in my opinion, the best and most cost effective with ‘proper’ not junk food. Service is great and included a novel robot cart that services the tables - at least it does not need tipping! I am still astounded that smoking is permitted in the public areas so there is a heavy overlay of stale smoke that pervades at all times. There is a shop and a bar across the road on one side and a mini supermarket and cafe on the other (but check opening times and the menu as neither matched what is publiisced). NB none of these are in any way affiliated to the hotel Let’s be clear, this not a modern swish hotel like its competitors on ‘the strip’ but a functional average hotel in need of some renovation
