I stayed one night at this hotel to be close to the Hollywood Bowl for a show. It's nicely situated, right off Sunset Boulevard, and it manages to resist the seediness of the immediate environment of the tourist area of Hollywood. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfy, and the whole hotel feels quaintly historic. That said, my room was $300 and it was tiny. The bathroom was so small that the door could not be closed while using the toilet. But my biggest issue was the billing. They place a $150 hold for incidentals which, five days later, remains on my credit card. There was a mistaken charge for valet parking for someone else's car on my bill, which was reversed, and then after I checked out, they charged me for a min-bar charge for something I did not take -- I didn't use anything from the mini-bar at all and even brought my own bottled water. When I got home, I requested that the charge be reversed and Stephanie at the front desk said it would be reversed. It still has not been. I don't know if these are honest mistakes on the Hollywood Roosevelt's part or if it's a matter of practice, but either way, it points to a quality issue in their guest relations and should be fixed...especially when rates are so high for such small rooms. I would encourage anyone who stays here to pay close attention to their bill each day you're there, and even days later.

"Don’t bother it’s all about $$$$"

The room was nice snd the bed was comfortable. This place is all about making money, from the $6 bottle of water in your room or the $26 plastic chesp flipflops also in your room, to the $70 valet parking! There is a car park next door $30. The hotel is so set on selling and making extra money they don’t care about the guests, who have already paid. The best feature of the hotel is the historic lobby and bar areas. This was all boarded up diring out stay so we couldn’t even walk through, it had been rented for a private function! No warning given till the morning of the event! No discount for half of the hotel being inaccessible, in fact it was more expensive on that night. Even the pool is up for rent, they do “resort pass” so the pool area is not exclusive for guests and they let absolutely anyone in. As the main lobby was closed there was no bar, we were told to ho to the pool area bar, at the pool there was 90 min waitlist for chairs!! The diner also lets anyone in off the street which makes it a really bad place to eat among all the weirdos that frequent this area. I’m surprised half of our room wasn’t rented out! All they care about is making money, not about guests who have already paid. Very disappointing! I did complain via txt to the hotel but nothing was done or offered to help.

"Top Notch Staff"

The staff is amazing! Other than the slow elevators - the porters/bell hop/valet staff are truly top notch here! They are the first people to welcome you the the HR and the last people to see you leave. They were so attentive, friendly, helpful, funny, engaging - can't say enough great things about them! All the staff was great, from the cleaning staff to the front desk - but a big shout out to the porters/bell hop/valet staff!!

Very expensive and no coffee in your room. You can walk across the hotel for coffee or wait 20 minutes for room service. We came for the lobby but there’s a private event there so to get around you have to go up stairs, find the fire escape stairs and walk down them. And no signs. Had to wait in a long line to check in.
