I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member, and as such, I enjoy staying at different properties throughout the Hilton portfolio when I visit a particular city. I usually travel by Amtrak train, and this journey was no exception. I chose the Higgins for this particular night because I would be arriving late in the evening and departing early the next morning, so being a comfortable but healthy walking distance it fit the bill for me. As I always do, I checked in and chose my room via the Hilton app the day before arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful when I arrived, and soon I was in my chosen room. The room was certainly good sized for my needs, and I had no issues with TV, WiFi, nor climate control. Bathroom had a lot of room for my toiletries and had no issues with hot water. I had good sleep after a long train ride, so I was refreshed as I departed the next morning and walked back to the Union Passenger Terminal. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Requests through Hilton app and to front desk for basic things (hot water kettle, mug) ignored. Theme affiliated with WWIi museum does not feel young or romantic.Very few cafes or bodega type shops, 93 on walkability is not the same as in other cities

Beautiful themed hotel for being adjacent to WW11 museum. Walking distance to many good restaurants like Boulevard, Flamingo for good lunches/dinner. Breakfast at hotel was pricey but good. We loved Rosie’s rooftop as the view was great and so was the food. I was there for a conference and this is where some attention is needed. The conference rooms were FREEZING 🥶 to the point where it was uncomfortable to pay attention to the speakers. Many people complained and it would be right back to cold. Also, they did not have staff emptying the garbage cans in the conference rooms and garbage was overflowing. Need to have a manager walking the area back there checking room temperatures and garbage situation. Otherwise loved the hotel.

There is a lot good about this hotel. The location is unique and an easy walk to the Quarter, the River, and the Garden District—if you’re a walker of course. And, yes, steps from the WWII Museum. The outside and inside aesthetic of the hotel is unique. The music at the elevators makes you want to dance The restaurant, lobby bar, and rooftop bar are wonderful with fabulous servers—there was one issue in 6 days but it was quickly resolved. I would note that we often saw no cushions out on ½ the patio many times, but there were other seats to be had. The hotel is, indeed, quiet. What did I trade for all the good? The room, while ‘upgraded’ for diamond status to a 2 room suite—after inquiring in many places for a top floor balcony but consistently shot down with the seemingly standard reasoning that no balcony rooms were available (yet somehow I could book one online—this is happening at a lot of Hilton's recently and has me questioning the ‘honesty’ of those stating something isn’t available)—looked out on a parking garage and interstate, had a television that didn’t work (reported multiple times, never fixed or replaced, just kept Welcoming George, finally unplugged it). Not horrible, but not 5 stars either.
