"Two Families with adult/older teen children take on Tejas!"

Our two families with adult/older teen children vacationed in San Antonio in late June (13 people). We typically do beach vacations with this group, but wanted to do something different. Texas did not disappoint, and neither did the Tejas Rodeo! The experience was awesome, and the people working there were too. Very friendly. We arrived around 5:15 before the 7:30 rodeo, per the advice of the website. I am glad we did, as it was packed by 6-ish. We got general admission seating, so we were able to get into the Rodeo stadium a little before 6 to get seats. I would advise that, as it will be difficult to sit with your entire party if you do not. The other option is to pay for reserved seating. Don't worry about arriving early; there are plenty of things to do. Our kids all rode the mechanical bull and looked at the shops that were there. We also ate at the BBQ and the concession stands. There is plenty to eat and drink. My one regret is that we did not eat at the steakhouse. Everyone said it was delicious that came from there. We didn't because it was our first time, and I wanted to make sure we got good seats. I was not sure how long it would take to eat there. If you arrive prior to 5 to eat, you should still have plenty of time to eat at the steakhouse and get good seats for the rodeo. The rodeo itself was fantastic and fun. They did a great job getting little kids involved and the crowd in general. The announcer was fun, and they played great music, not just country, but pump-up songs as well. The riders and competitors were top-notch. The bulls were not kind to the riders that night. Some of them were diabolical! The ropers and the riding show were very entertaining. If you want to experience Texas, the rodeo is a must. Very patriotic and family-friendly. It's a short 25-30 minute drive from San Antonio. I 10/10 recommend it!
